Hello everyone, Im a rookie in the game. I found that the ammo is not enough in the battle. Are any ways to gain some ammo? Or how can I collect ammo from bodies? And btw, when I dropped the gun, it disappeared and I cant find it even on the ground. Could you please help me out with these stuff? Thank you very much!
Yes, you can, Google it…
Mechanic for dropping guns is not working as it should currently. Don’t use it until they fix it.
The only ways to get more ammo are:
- from ammo boxes that engineers can construct.
- command alt-2 if you have any other surviving squad members - that will get you 1 magazine of you main weapon.
If there’s none of those around you can pick up weapons from troops that have been recently killed.
Otherwise you are shirt out of luck - get out your knife or axe, use up any remaining grenades, think of which squad you want to use next.
You can get ammo from ammo boxes built by engineers. Or pick up weapons from the dead bodies - it will usually give you some ammo (magazine that was already in the weapon and sometimes second, full magazine - you can gather ammo by picking few weapons of the same time)
You can also increase your base ammount of ammo by equiping your soldiers with ammo pouches - check out the backpack slot.
Just like in reality, ammo logistics is always a very critical point.
I have my own method to ensure my soldiers have enough ammo, depending on their class. Mostly, the ammo normal infantry as well as specialists like engineers, radio guys and bombers etc have is enough for me, but for assaulters and snipers, I always equip them with ammo pouches, that’s a must.
Another important thing already mentioned are engineers, as they can construct ammo crates. Especiall yfor example mortar squads should by all means have an engineer, as otherwise you just have 10 rounds per mortar, which is not enough at all. My mortar squad has the engineer at the top position, so when spawning I immediately use the engineer to drop ammo crates, then switch to the mortar guy, position him just next to the crate(s), and hammer the enemy with efficient mortar barrages, repeatedly refilling my mortar ammo from the crates…
Also my sniper squad has an engineer, specifically to drop ammo at my favourite sniper positions, so my snipers can rersupply easily in the middle of the battle.
Like this, I rarely yhave issues with running low on ammo!

If you play on PC press Alt - command wheel will open. Somewehre there will be an option called “Request ammo”. But note that you can use it only when:
a) You have any alive soldier in your squad
b)You are completely out of ammo
One of your bots will run to you and give you one magazine/clip (whatever your weapon uses). The bot doesn’t have to carry the same weapon - for example standard rifleman can give you MG ammo.

It is “alt” followed by “2” as @ad999 mentiuoned - don’t know if it is customisable sory.
