Have you seen the state of SMGs right now?
You can’t consistently hit past 50m but people still use those things.
MG-tier damage with that dispersion would be an improvement.
Now, I feel that the recoil may be very different from that at the time, because during the Normandy CBT period, the recoil of BAR is also quite exaggerated, but now it can be said to be one of the most controllable machine guns with recoil.

oh for sure. most if not all guns felt diferent.
FG42 was a machinegun for gunner class in alpha, and had less recoil on auto if i remember correcly than now.
stg (if it comes as current mp43 in normandy) felt like had less recoil.
also, mg15 was the MG in alpha but we played with the 42 model. lol x) was a mess in recoil but a worth one,

i dont know why, but mg81 (troop variant) with stock and bipod , would be the gun i trully want to see in enlisted.

I can see it being in the game as a gold order weapon, seems like all the “rare” and experimental weapons are going to end up there since you’re only limited to having it for a single troop.

Just cuz we had it, doesn’t mean we should. If they put it in game now, it’s gonna hit like the M2 Carbine or the StG, and not likely have the recoil of either. It’s a post war weapon, didn’t even see service during the Korean war. I’d love to see a korea campaign, Communist forces would have access to a lot of cool stuff, including the SKS and Rp-46.
