Allow tanks to capture objectives

Because the crowd that wanted the “fabelled” Warthunder Infantry can find that here, and not there

then there is the exodus from the Battlefield Series that has not been delivering.

Meanwhile in Warthunder you have Tankers crying about pilots because “its a tank game”…nope

honestly came here because I was sick to shit of just how bad WT event have gotten, didnt even mind the WT grind since anything above 8.7 is just straight up not worth playing.

I still play both. depends what itch needs to be scratched. (completely done with events in warthunder though)…Also after 13 years I have everything id want now anyway, now I just play what I want. Up to 5.7 is the where the fun is at…after that forget it.

When they get tank and plane features much better in Enlisted, I probably would fade out of Warthunder, but its a ways off

In Warthunder The kicker is I was never interested in Tanks. I like planes an Infantry, so really I was there for the planes. I learned to love tanks because I had to play tanks to fly in ground RB

If you don’t want ppl to use tanks and planes, maybe find yourself a game without them?

I do.

But I want to experience tank vs infantry combat as well. Deal with it, troll.

But if you’re insecure about vehicles in Enlisted. Just find a game without vehicles. It is that easy. :man_shrugging:

While I hear your argument please know that it is quite difficult to find games that are like Enlisted and dont have tanks/planes.

Hell Let Loose is a completely different style of game (which I dont like) and in that game you can do NOTHING against tanks. So its an even worse situation. And Im sure youre aware of the mess that is Battlefield V…

My main issue with Enlisted is the focus on War Thunder heavy tanks instead of regular vehicles.

Where are the halftracks? Universal Carrier? Fargo? M3 Scout car? Daimler Dingo? M5 Kangaroo? Schwimwagen? SPAAs? Armed jeeps/kubelwagens? Trucks? Civilian cars?

Those are just some examples but I think you will understand my frustration that an FPS game doesnt focus on vehicles for infantry.

Like jets, yes they existed at the end of WWII but in an FPS game what are you actually gonna do with jets?
Theyre too fast for strafing/bombing and unbalanced against most prop planes. If youre way off the map dogfighting I mean good for you but thats really not relevant to Enlisted is it?
As youd be aware the aircraft experience in War Thunder is a lot better than in Enlisted.

People should respect Enlisted for what it is. And not try to push changes to the game in order to remake Enlisted to some dream game of theirs that doesn’t even exist.

Enlisted has plenty of fans already. And what might be a step up for some, might be a complete turn off for others.

I really don’t see any negative about allowing tanks to cap points.
Tank wrecks can be destroyed now. There’s now so many option how to destroy them as never before.
Plus it would encourage the active gameplay. And not sitting in grey zone.

this is also one of the problems i have when people are complaining about tanks camping… make maps better for tanks and people would drive tanks around map more. i would want to play mobile tank warfare, but when i am getting blocked and getting stuck every few meters i just go to camping deep in grey zone.

I hate greyzone and believe it should be enforced.

But I 100% agree with you on this. Even just for APCs or motorcycles.

Theres way too much junk around the maps. I understand having some cover for infantry or some obstacles but Enlisted maps are just over the top.

Hence why Ive previously suggested adding bulldozers to clear obstacles, as well as tow tank hulks out of the way, clear paths through trees etc.

Just on tank hulks the main problem with those is when one is partially blocking a road and then a player tank gets destroyed and now that path is completely blocked to anyone and theres NOTHING anyone can do.
That to me is silly & unnecessary.

Junk really isn’t the problem. The problem is terrible collision model and weird tank physics.

Tanks are literally having trouble to cross trenches, for smaller/lighter ones it’s impossible to do that.

As if that wasn’t one of the primary design purposes of a tank. To be able to cross a trench.

It’s not even about map design.

Yes trenches is a good point. And Ive said that myself, the whole point of tanks was to cross trenches.

(remember that just post WW1 French tank that was like 20 guys long, Char 2C or something)

Well, I have no problem with Tanks capturing cap points, however, if you come rolling into the cap point in your tank, you’re going to be more popular then a drunk female at a party, as every Tom, Dick and Harry are going to be coming for you with bad intentions.

Also I’d say the prevalence and strength of AT weapons for infantry is an issue. Why risk a whole tank being blown up by a one dude hiding in a bush?
Though it was much worse in the past with unnerfed explosive pack.

That’s how people talked about it on reddit.

The players’ lack of skills is making them play only with tanks and planes.

First they wanted more tank and plane models.
Then they wanted more players with tanks and planes per match.
Now they want to capture with tanks.

This in a FPS game.

My suggestions for all this nonsese ideias.

A german ufo.

I’m going to throw my tuppence in and say that no, tanks shouldn’t be able to cap points. It’s the infantry’s job to fortify a position, it’s the armour’s job to support the infantry in their fortification of a position.

Thats WW 1 doctrine. WW 2 saw alot more Armor Breaking through with Infantry supporting. there are many battles you could say the armor takes the ground, the infantry secure it. In France the Panzers Ended up stopping their relentless advance because the infantry couldnt keep up. Same for The British Armored in Market Garden.

Focus is combined arms. Also fortifying isnt capturing.

Well at least we know from what intellectual bubble you and your opinions come from. xD

Literally this game is not about skill at all. If anyone thinks they have any superhuman skill when they’re shooting Enlisted bots as infantry. Okay. :joy:

It’s interesting that these people prefer not to play actually competitive FPS games. But they choose to play enlisted. :man_shrugging: what a mystery indeed.

Complete mystery there, absolutely, completely, certainly, without doubtably, unexplainable lmao.

But its also the fact that his argument makes no sense, since to use a tank on a point would take more skill, I mean youd need god like spacial awareness and an ability to muititask all the while thinking a step ahead.

I say let tanks cap, it fits historically, it fits the gameplay, it gives more player freedom, I mean whats not to love? Tankers can get in close and personal, Infantry can get better opportunities to ambush the tank, no one is going to mald over grey zone camping, its a win win for everyone.

Semantics.
