Since Mounted MGs were taken out for rebalancing, AAA guns have taken their place for many people, and they are arguably worse.
The need for a mounted MG still remains. I realize that the “mounting” feature exists, but is still rather wonky to use.
My Suggestion is to allow MG soldiers to “build” in a manner similar to engineers. However the only things they can build is an MG set up on a bipod/tripod. Can be built on any cover that could be normally mounted. If an ammo box is present within 5m of it, the ammo feeds out of the box. Otherwise, it feeds out of the standard capacity.
If it is “deconstructed” it acts as if picking the weapon up off the ground.
The whole point here is to make it easier to use, and to have it set up so that even if the user is killed, another can take his place without having to fumble around in the dirt to f
