I don’t know what you think, but it seems quite unbalanced to me. I haven’t won one of 10 battles. Really everyone only plays for the Germans and only a few people play for the USSR + AI bots ??
This imbalance should be corrected immediately, it is not possible for the USSR to be only 9 and Germany to have 13-14 people, this really cannot be played then.
Newcomers will certainly be discouraged by this and will lose their base of players.
Unless you squad up with someone, you are most likely to lose games as USSR.
Axis has an excellent player base compared to the Allies. They are factually larger and also follow objectives and work together very well. It has so far been a nightmare playing for Allies as most of them has zero regard for the objectives and would rather build MG nests and shoot at the objectives instead. Which would have been fine if there was enough players but we don’t.
So, I understand where your observation is coming from. But I don’t think there is a solution to it right now. People have their choice faction and you can’t change that. Any attempt to bring balance will only result in the whole player base suffering.
I dont agree - make the Soviet early game fun. Right now, Developers are punishing early Soviet side. I don’t know why all developers do that, with Soviet side.
Hey Devs - make Soviet side FUN to play, you understand? Running around with Mosin rifles until level 11(Madsen) is NO FUN. So everyone just quits playing Soviet - its a rifle grinder, until level 11-12
I’m gonna go ahead and quit this for a little bit, until devs figure out a balance. It’s like 5-6 to 1 in Soviet wins, and that’s only because I’m always top 1-3, and sometimes winning games by myself. This isn’t fun Devs. If you release this right now - it would bomb out. Soviet side needs more work. I mean, go play Soviets yourseves devs ^^, say on North American servers. See how that works out for ya ^^
i mean, honestly, from a personal perspective i don’t deny that i mostly play the germans,
but when i play the russians, i find that equipment it’s much more different, and for some parts, more powerfull than the german one.
the only problem that i encounter, are the lack of player replaced by bots. plus, those present players does not play the objective. but i’m more than sure that it’s not a balance problem. but what people plays. so you can’t really blame devs for that.
the only issues that i found with guns, are the ptrd/ptrs that makes no damage sometimes and wacky progression system.
but for the rest, it’s somewhat balance at it’s best.
This is spot on really. I was in a game 2 days back where it was visibly equal number of human players on both sides or maybe even more for Allies in Vyoskovo invasion. There was atleast 2 vehicles fielded by the Soviets at any given point in the game. And it was extremely difficult to break through as attackers. You can easily hold off attackers with engineer class and well positioned tanks. We eventually won it but had 0 reinforcements left.
Soviets easily have the more desirable equipment for the current campaign. The map is small enough that PPD even with its limited range can be absolutely deadly. The tanks are very good against infantry which is what you need when you are defending points. The planes can get a lot more involved because they can do 4 bombing runs rather than 1. Any balance change from this point forward should only come after the game hits OBT. So that we can see how a battle without AI squads will play out.
The PTRD anti-premium rifle.
Of course it’s not so good against tanks because it rarely does any post-pen damage.
But I’ve replaced my sniper squad with the AT squad for the time being because PTRDs are more flexible and being able to OHK at long range rather than just downing someone makes up for the lack of scope to me.
The monastery maps are the only ones where engagement ranges are long enough that you can’t scrape by with iron sights anyway.
For most corridors, but certain angles as well as the invasion create ranges too extreme for iron sights to handle.
Sniper duels between the ramparts and the town below during invasion aren’t uncommon, and I wouldn’t want to take iron sights into that fight.
I’ve also sat on the tower opposite of the main breach in the wall with a machine gun as people were coming through it- it’s doable with iron sights on the machine gun, but the people are too small to hit with single shots with iron sights.
