Straight to the point. Add the Browning M1918’s to rifles to since Axis have the FG’s and add the Browning M1919 machine gun to Heavy weps for Gunners. As well as adding the M1919 to the machine nest engineers can make for the Allies.
US already has the M2 carbine.
Can’t even use the full auto on the M2 since the recoil is insane
FG-42 has insane recoil in full auto as well
Use it as an assault rifle and it will give you bank.
I really dont want every dude I got to have a browning
we have 2 versions of the browning m1918 in game .-.
Hint, try hip firing the M2
recoil is much more controllable
M2 is absolute trash compared to the FG42, you can’t compare trash to god tier weaponry. I’d take a Garand over an M2 any day of the week. The fg-42 has better damage, lower recoil and higher bullet velocity, its by far the better gun, anyone who claims otherwise is insane, idiotic or has an agenda.
Or restrict FG and M2 carbine to certain classes? So we can avoid unnecessary power creep and even more idiotic run and gun gameplay.
Creating another problem to “fix” the previous one is not a good way to go.
It is FG42 and M2 that has to be restricted, not BAR given to every single soldier.
As for M1919 - sure, it’s an iconic weapon and definetely should be introduced, both in handheld version and as MG nest for engineers.
Yes, both weapons are comparable power wise and SHOULD be in the same class of weapons.
However in the real world, the FG was much much lighter than the BAR making it basically a shoulder fired rifle, with the bonus of being usable as a light MG,
while the BAR was way too heavy to be used as a regular “infantry rifle”,
even tho the AR in BAR stands for “automatic rifle”.
now effectiveness aside, the FG was a “elite weapon” only really used by the Fallschirmjägers, thus from a immersion standpoint it is MUCH worse to see 50% of the axis team using this gun, than lets say “if” 90% of the US team would be running BARs.
Now to fix this problem, I would say, both the BAR and the FG should be moved to either the Gunners or to the Assaulters.
As someone who has fg42’s on virtually every soldier I would agree, but say that m2/fg42 should have an extra class it’s used for (i.e. m2 could be engineer, fg42 could be trooper only or something, or limited to 4* and above troopers perhaps, i dunno). If you had to choose between fg42 and mg42 for gunner, or m2 and bar for allies, you’d never see the fg42 or the m2.
