All things planes-Bomber crew specific perks/bomber sights/manual gunner seat/armament loadouts

Back in 2022 aircraft gunner were introduced with the promise of switching seats and manning gunner seats. Did this get canned?
Gunner seats : I would assume AI could implement basic slow turning maneuvers or fly steady. Similar to the passive and aggressive AI infantry commands. Could have an “Evade” command or a “Steady” command. This may be impossible for console players but… you could still be able to crudely fly with the keys while you aim the gunner with mouse, similar to free looking. Having the ability to change gunner seats would be incredibly fun and add a new skill to the game.

Bomber sights this is must at some point. Being able to precision bomb without diving and skimming the ground would be cool. I would suggest having an altitude requirement to use bombardier, maybe it could only activate between 400-500 or something. Switching to bomb sight would allow for lateral adjustments. This would mean you need to have a strategic plan on your bombing run, but still be venerable to air and ground opposition.

Gunner/ Bombardier specific perks Perhaps we could have a new class of soldier. “Gunner/Bombardier” Similar to loader and gunner perks for tanks, could we get some added crew specific perks?
Bombardier perks- Vitality perk “increased altitude ceiling up to 600” Speed perk “more accurate/resposive adjustments to bombing run alignment”. weapon perk “accuracy-less bomb spread” the norden bombsight i think had an accuracy of 75ft or 23m during testing.
Something along those lines…
Gunner Perks- I think the perks are fine for AI, but if we do have the abiilty to switch seats I would think some new perks would be needed. Speed perk “gyro perk for aim stability” Vitality perks, instead of flight stamina, this could be applied to increase overheat time, similar to stationary mg’s. Weapon perk can stay at detection range.

Also…Is there a B-17 flying fortress in our futures???

I love flying planes and would love to see some additions to the aerial game mechanics!!!

Also, the control for plane gunner is already present.

Yes! All my pilots have the best “plane detection” perks but maybe 50% of my targets are on the ground. Have been hoping for a while that this perk get improved with “ground vehicles detection” or similar.

Yeah, I would have expected that to be a thing already. The more experience I gained as a pilot, the more time I spent free-looking until it’s now 99% of the time. This implementation would feel normal to most pilots.

It wouldn’t be a hassle at all to just let you control your plane while playing the gunner, since you can already set your flight controls so they don’t utilize your mouse movement.

And to add this, tanks already let you play the gunner and the driver at the same time while the gunner is selected. That’s how I envision playing the gunner of your plane.

Exactly! This is what I was thinking as well. I am sure there will be a learning curve, but as you said, we pilots we use free look 99% of the time. For beginners, it would be easy to just switch to a tail gunner and keep flying straight. This was a mechanic in BF1 that worked well. Im sure most fighters wouldn’t evade and challenge the gunners. But with a human gunner not AI, opposing planes might back off when fired upon.
I love flying in Enlisted, hope they keep adding improvements.

Side note, I wouldn’t be opposed to three planes at a time, two fighters and 1 attack plane allowed. Most fighters don’t bother or make much of an impact to infantry plant. I love it when the skys are constantly full on bogies, more dogfighting!!! This could provide more protection to vulnerable bombers. But I am sure balance issues would arrise quickly.
I know others have suggested it, but if maps were larger, I don’t think 3 planes would affect much. Now… three tanks would be a problem lol
