HE shells, Grenades, Artillery, any explosive should work similarely to bombs. There fore if you go prone you would not die if youre far enough from the explosion.
How it is right now, you can die from grenades and other explosions very easily, but if there was a mechanic like bombs it would be easier to stay alive.
Skilled players would still kill you, by coocking grenades, shooting HE shells right by you.
They should replace them with satchel charges, so they canât be thrown far or go impact grenade style (because holding them while fused for too long would be dangerous for the user) and their power is justified
No it doesnt. Already HE is nuclear from calibers 75-88mm. 45mm , 50mm are also really good. 20mm and 37mm are bad because they were bad. We dont need even more gray zone campers
All explosions need a buff to their damage, but they need to obey the bomb-laws that force the majority of their damage up-and-away with the shockwave dissipating on all objects that provide âcoverâ.
The HE rounds could definitely do with a bump in power if that meant there was some sort of bump in the explosion of tanks when their ammo cooks off. Itâd also be nice to have ammo fires take like, three or four seconds to go off, with certain tanks being able to evacuate certain crew positions faster (see the Shermans).
I hope you realize that bombs dig a bit into the ground, because they are heavy and dropped from way up. Therefore a lot of shrapnel is impeded by the surrounding earth. I think that the only reasonable changes to other explosive weapons, would be a reduction of damage if you went prone and your feet were facing towards the blast.
In the upcoming update, damage from bomb splinters will be calculated based on a more realistic model. Essentially: when a bomb lands it will push partially into the ground, so now, fragments and splinters will fly upwards in a cone from the explosion point, which is more true-to-life representation of how they work.
Proning makes you safe from bombs. Proning wouldnt make you safe from grenades, you wouldnt die just take less damage. If youre close to it you would die.
Its like IRL people go prone when throwing a grenade, so that less shrapnell would hit you
I understand, the title said they should âwork similarly to bombsâ so I wrongly assumed that you didnât know how the bomb change works. I would be in favor of what you said though.
