This would be a way to balance matches without splitting the playerbase through SBMM. It would also make life easier for devs. Currently, missions are balanced by the devs manually adjusting parameters like cap times, reinforcements, etc. But this is a whack-a-mole solution and keeps them from doing other things. Instead, they could code an algorithm, which would adjust mission parameters based on average rank, bot count, and campaign levels of each team in order to balance the scales just a bit.
I had this idea too recently, but i quickly realized how shit it could become.
The caps are already like a minute long on some maps, which is retarded itself. On some single soldier can cap in 10 seconds.
I just don’t like this balancing at all.
I would rather see either shorter matches (let’s be honest, if a team caps in 1 min, or can’t cap first objective in 10, everyone knows who will win) or proper matchmaking (option to wait longer for full game)
The only type of MM I want right now at least, is give me one that puts the same number of actual players on each team.
And, if someone DCs, fill it in with someone else in a queue immediately and provide them an XP bonus for joining a match in progress.
That is the most basic and fundamental ways to at least start. I dont want to ROFL stomp a team, nor do I want to be stomped. And a lot of that can be prevented by having the same number of actual humans per side.
Normandy right now because of the event squads, is a hopping place with tons of humans. I’ve won and lost on it, and its been damn fun because in each instance it has been worth it.
You would be surprised. I’ve had some matches where the Attacking team throws their team into the meat grinder and still manages to win in the end by the skin of their teeth. Sometimes you win some, sometimes you lose some
and it usually doesn’t even help. The extra cap time literally exists to make the steamrolling team get bored of sitting around and to make close matches impossible to win by the penalised team.
This is a disaster. Just make sure each team has at least 5 players that actually…do things outside of just “sniping”
That happens mostly due to absolute deadweights leaving. Attacking team people ragequit and get replaced and sometimes they are so damn bad it actually lets you win the game. Of course it doesnt help that some defenders are liable to ragequit if you cap something too lol. But it’s literally due to wastes of team space leaving most of the time
Yeah in 3000+ matches, only few i didn’t predict the outcome correctly from the start.
Recently more matches where i’m throw into started matches where my team already lost first objective in 1 min, and would most likely lost if i didn’t join.
But these are 1% exception and and the rule.
I don’t want to force people to join such matches where I would rather have it as an option instead.
Sure make it a toggle option then, but at least something.
I end up quitting some matches myself now when I notice that all the humans have disconnected…why put myself through 30min of pain with just bots…
it,s rare, but i actualy played a battle whit outmost all major of both sides. the guns obivus has tough.
never see so much bullets in enlisted that this day.
PS, i got alot of fun, because in battle for moscow my axis squad is nutela.
I had one of those on Ruins of Vaux last night. 10 players, all real on both sides.
The tracers and explosions and Air to Air that was happening, was insane!
Almost 35min match too with a tough win at the Bunker for us. I even managed to shoot down a fighter chasing our bomber. He was coming in low for his run, and I gunned the P38s wing and tail off with AA.
I’d love for our population to increase so I can experience that everywhere.
I’d like to see such an increase, but only if there were measures in place to maintain a healthy mix of new, mid-level, and veteran players on each team, so that it wouldn’t end up being a full auto/heavy tank/attacker plane fiesta every game. But if MM prioritized mid-level players, then filled in the rest with newbies and veterans, it would be a perfect mix. I like that 9 man FG42 squads, triple PPSh squads and the like are a rare sight. It’s fine that they’re there, but they should be the exception and not the rule.
I would actually like to see an option where if its unbalanced the game offers some of the heavier sided team members to switch to the other team for balancing … and give them a bonus reward for doing so. For example if it gave 10k XP to switch sides for game balance … A LOT of people I think would probably help and balance the game a bit
