Aleutian Campaign

I think the Aleutian campaign would be a fantastic addition to the game. Firstly, because it is a little portrayed front of the early Pacific War, and secondly because it would offer some much needed variety to both Japanese and American forces

For those who do not know, the Aleutian Islands are a chain of Islands off the coast of Alaska, which were occupied briefly by the Japanese early in WW2. The territory would consist largely of rocky cliffs and snowcapped hills, with muddy trenches, military housing and infrastructure and discarded waste strewn about the map.

The two main islands occupied were Attu and Kiska. Both would look largely the same, so I think only one need be made into a map. Or perhaps an amalgamation of the two. Reguardless, I will share pictures/maps of both.

Attu

Uniforms
In addition to offering a unique landscape, the addition of the Aleutian Campaign would also give us the opportunity to see Imperial Japanese Army cold-weather gear.

No, I don’t want this map in the game when the devs just use their imagination for what it looks like with Guadalcanal, Hurtgen “forest,” and Normandy. I hope we never get another American map if the devs put out some half way done abomination.

I wouldn’t mind seeing some snowy action against Japan.

Also, maybe the Soviet-Japanese Manchukuo war in '45.

Damn, that’s certainly an opinion. Hot take there, my guy. I respect it.

I wouldn’t mind seeing that, or potentially the Battle of Khalkhin Gol for an earlier war Soviet v Japan setting.

The problem is cover some parts of the battlefield look more like the moon the anywhere on earth.

as you can see some great areas but a lot of empty space.

They have shown they don’t care about American battlefields, so why even burden them with making one.

Because games are of equally matched teams by number and gear, if you want a simulator to have the Reich sweep the beaches of Normandy play another game, do you want them to add the allied fleet in support, i could just see that navy shells hitting German bunkers for five minutes before the game starts so much fun.

We aren’t talking about gear; we are talking about maps. They have one job, and that job is to make a map that at least looks like the battlefield in real life. Stop using a Strawman argument.

Here’s a cool suggestion!
This would be a nice surprise since many people mistakenly believe that the “Pacific” war between Japan and the US took place only in the warm southern islands.
If the developers add winter costumes for the Japanese, they can use the assets to fight the Soviets. Very smart.
I agree with this suggestion.
Don’t forget to add the strange birds endemic to the Aleutian Islands!

How about setting up empty space in a grey zone and using it as a landscape?

that means the map cannot favor one side or the other, an accurate Normandy would heavily favor the German side i didn’t think that needed to be said

I like the idea, I’d like to see some more environments to fight in.

They should randomly spawn Americans on both sides with no Japanese soldiers on the map in some matches, so we get the full experience.

Yes, which is why you give the Allies extra troops to go through, or you give the defending team a certain amount of troop tickets.

that does not alter concentration, attackers need three to one odds against defenders in heavily fortified positions, giving them more tickets does not change that
let’s say both sides have ten squad average seven troops that means both sides have seventy troops, letting them take and replace more3 casualties won’t sway the battle in their favor on a more accurate Normandy map, you need more troops on field
