LOL, what the crap. I tried to setup my HOTAS to fly aircraft and it completely botches the mapping. Yet the ridiculous number of required systems you have to control manually can’t be done on a normal console controller. So you have to either use K&M or use console controller and keep dropping it in order to use your keyboard. Who “developed” this game, FISHER PRICE?

Not really
You got throttle, flap controls, gear controls, and you can aim. What more do you need to get the job done? The ability to manually control your coolant?

Let’s just say that I used to stubbornly play War Thunder realistic air battles with joystick among mouse players, and I managed to keep up for some 7 years. Yet, Enlisted made me throw the towel and switch to mouse control in a matter of weeks.
I found most planes to be way too unstable, impossible to aim accurately.
I’m pretty sure the only thing preventing me being “Best Fighter Pilot” is not being able to manually control my coolant.

Well, I can’t help you there buddy. I suck at dog fighting in War Thunder, and my CAS ability is iffy at best, but I can nail some tanks in Enlisted and put rockets on heads. I don’t know. Maybe it’s your controller or something, but good luck figuring it out man

Yeah most of my experience is in WT. British planes burn almost instantly. American planes can go for eternity
Not sure how they stack against each other in Enlisted though. I have very little experience with anyone else’s. I’m an Infantry Gamer after all
In Enlisted almost any plane can run indefinitely at 95% without overheating. With rare exceptions, but I forgot which ones.

Most yaks only can throttle to 100 and you can’t go 100 for long they overheat fast

You’re not alone. I use direct mouse controls in both games (like in Battlefield) and in Enlisted it’s only barely usable. Not in a million years am I going to win a genuine air duel with these controls and these flight models.

Most US made airplanes will start heating up at 110% almost immediately
Almost every russian plane in the game you can fly at max throttle basically indefinitely.
109s I’ve only managed to get yellow a few times, after basically flying it at 110% for the whole match
As for the controls, I’m also confused. They are the most intuitive and easy to use setups I’ve ever seen.
Use the mouse for small adjustments, including rolling, which you stabilise and manage with Q/E and for hard maneuvers (sustained turns or hard rudder inputs) just use WSAD
