Strafing infantry in planes is almost pointless because the guns are laser accurate, but even when you do land a hit whether with 7.62/7.92 or even the 20mms it just ends in a hit letting them scurry off. I’d like it if you’d considering buffing the damage of the weapons on planes.

I can’t really agree.
MG-strafes do work, even tho you have to stay on target for a split second - and as soon as you’ve got 20mils, they can be outright devastating.
CAS with bombs are more than dangerous enough, they don’t need even more buffs.
And fighter aircraft have another role, tho strafing with them, as said, can work wonders (assumed you’ve got marks)

IL-2 gets 3. Stuka 1. Sure the stuka’s bomb is 250kg and IL-2’s bombs are 3x100kg, but still. Stuka isn’t great at infantry killing, nor is the 250kg bomb very good against tanks.

i disagree.
even if germans doesn’t have 20ms, the HS can still be devastating.
i can make around 25 kills with just those type of mgs/smg as a plane and no bombs.
i don’t claim to be an ace, but the pilot skills really can make the difference.
and i can say, that it’s a good challenge.
i don’t wanna end up with people that just spray random bullets and can wipe out entire squad due to the huge damage.
battlefield 1 had this sistem, and if you are not a pilot, no one likes it.

It highly depends on skill and is very, very devastating.
Neither is the IL-2 effective against tanks - you need pretty much direct hits. The amount of “no damage” despite the hits I’ve landed is staggering (confirmed hits, thanks to the hit-cam)
I think you highly underrate the 250kg bomb.
It just cleans the area it hits, and it really doesn’t care about such flimsy cover as houses.
A good pilot can really hamper any effort in defending a point. I’m just glad I meet them rarely
