Aircraft visibility and control is shocking, let us come out of first person like in war thunder

I have a really hard time being effective with my aircraft due to how it is maneuvered, i.e with the mouse, wasd rudder control does nothing really, could we get a third person view with the same setup as war thunder?

WASDQE controls override those of the mouse. It’s a bit getting used to but it works perfectly fine.

I would really dislike a 3rd person view in a “realistic” first person shooter.

With the BF110, this would actually be helpful.

The cockpit is so horrid in OBT you can barely see in front of you. On D-day it’s completely unusable, you can’t see anything in front of you when diving for an attack.

Do you need to see anything in it to get kills with those rockets?

this would make the planes op, thats why the tanks have 1st person camera

It would be completely optional if you wanted to come out of first person, just like war thunder. I don’t see this as a realism issue if it’s completely optional, it would just help all the people that are used to third person controls.

Voluntarily handicapping yourself is not a solution to breaking immersion.

This is not war thunder.
Learn to play a game that is not war thunder, just like you would learn to play any other game that is not war thunder.
Simple.

Git gud
The first person camera is great.
Maybe pull it back on a couple planes for a better field of view though.

This is 100% correct and another valid reason for why we shouldn’t get 3rd person in planes.

It’s not as open as the 410, but you get a good big window to look through tbh

Please, come back when you’ve tried the Bf110 on D-day for example - you can’t see anything because of the horrid cockpit and by the time your low enough to use your weapons it’s too late to pull up due to low visibility. I don’t play war thunder, i installed it a few days ago just to test out how the tanks and planes may be like in enlisted.

I have used it plently.

You need to learn that you do not have to see to get massive amount of kills.

God I love the 110 cockpit.
I’ve been swapping between the IL-2 and Chaika and they can’t hold a candle to it.

Not really no but I’d still like to see :joy:

You can see the general direction of the enemy

good enough

Nah you just want it because you are instantly frustrated by having yo fly like they did IRL, and want a massive leg up on the first person infantry and tanks and other planes. No thanks

We could always just make sure each cockpit has usable windows, make sure the look around function works properly, and increase FoV

You have no idea how clueless you really are.

I came here from WT, HB/SB, IL-2 sturmovik, and various other 1st person sim games. But that’s besides the point.

If you want to speak realistically, the BF 110 has the wrong cockpit. The cockpit was horrid yes, but it was never as blind as it is in the current iteration of the game. I want the plane to have it’s historically accurate cockpit, not this blown-up version where seeing anything in front of you is practically impossible due to the amount of inexplicable fog on it and you need to use the right and left windows as a decent bit of guidance.

It is NOT an accurate representation of the historical cockpit. It had terrible visibility because it was poorly designed, not because germany installed a smoke machine inside the cockpit to block the front window whenever it went on an attack run.

Or we can just give planes their historically accurate cockpits. See the above post.

It’s actually not fog. They explicitly placed a bunch of planes inside of the cockpit that are not entirely see-through just to screw with visibility.

You can clearly see the edges of them.

No no, this is a problem. I know about those.

That looks INCREDIBLY different on your side.

To me all of those windows are practically covered in fog and extremely difficult to see through even while flying through the sky. When diving it becomes completely impossible. I’ll take some pictures later and show you what I mean.
