It seems very difficult to get kills in fighters whose biggest gun are 20mm cannons. I’ve had better luck using the T1 German attack aircraft than the T1 German fighter when dogfighting in Normandy. I’ve been hitting enemy planes over and over in the back and from above but I’ve never caused them to break apart or spin out of control.
I agree - they seem to either do nothing or 1 shot the plane and no inbetween
I think the rotation speed needs to be higher tbh
Also reserve ammo supply needs to be higher. Tired of dismantling AA’s with no ammo left just to build new ones
20 mm are funny at the moment. Certain planes have certain spots that seem to break immediately if you hit them. Anywhere else nothing seems to happen.
I won’t list them all but il 2 needs a canopy shot, I-153 needs an engine shot (from the front) or elevator, bf110 just hit engines etc etc. If you don’t hit these spots, nothing seems to happen unless you dump on them.
The early attack a/c in Normandy is the 110G-2 with 30mm canon and 37mm cannon isn’t it?? So anything it hits stays dead!!
But against a competent dogfighter it is an easy kill - I shoot down lots of htem in P-38, but 109’s usually get me since I cant’ turn with them.
If you are getting more kills in 110 then likely you are like me - can fly a bit, and can get kills against ppl who don’t manouver or don’t see you! But fail against actual good pilots!
I agree. I have emptied my full ammo load into an enemy Allied plane yet get shot down in one pass from one. Including an A-20 bomber.
I just got wrecked in 2 passes by a 109… he didn’t have your problem!!
It’s the same things with the tanks really, hit the weak point to potentially oneshot or shoot anywhere else to do absolute shit, the damage models are broken
It depends on your angle to the enemy tank, the ammo type you’re using, the size of the cannon vs the thickness of enemy tank armour etc. It seems pretty accurate to me ngl. Exact same models from warthunder
did not the falkveiring have 4x20 round mags not 10?
