Air and CAS overhaul propositions

From the start, I’ve never enjoyed the state that Normandy was at the beginning, where it was pointless to even spawn in some situations and bomber was alone decimating entire enemy team.
However, many campaigns today suffer from how much the planes are packed in Normandy.
The difference in overall aircraft strength between campaigns is just stupidly high.
There are planes like the Ju-188, A-20G or P-47D-28 (loadout) in this game, that are completely pointless and requires you to bend all the laws of the game to balance it anyway.
On the other hand, there is a weakness of the bombs in the game in terms of the overall firepower. Where an ordinary sandbag can save from 1000lb bomb blast…
The current implementation is just bad.
In addition, there is also the question of the existence of fighters without CAS armament…
Let’s face it, every type of plane should be able to attack ground units, all machine guns and cannons (except few, like MK108) in this game are completely useless when attacking ground targets.
The distance of points for replenishing ammunition is also important. Currently, there is no logical system for justifying the distance to these points in this game. For example, the Ju-188 is able to drop 1500 kg of bombs every several seconds regularly on some maps, where in the Pacific you have to fly sometimes and for a few minutes to replenish less than 240 kg.
In conclusion:

  • Model of bombs, rockets and air cannons’ destruction should be changed.
  • Re-arm the planes that are currently completely useless in the game.
  • Remove overloaded planes…
  • Adjust the ammo restocking locations according to the map type and the performance of the aircraft concerned.

I can see your point to a certain degree. The only thing I disagree with is that the bombers in Normandy are OP. The only ones there that are too strong are the first Axis planes that have access to the 30 and 37 cannons. Those decimate entire areas with ease, and it should not be the FIRST plane obtained.
Otherwise, the bombers as a whole really rely on team support to spot out targets, and often to suggest the best angle of attack. If they are working together like this, and the bombs are accurate, of course they are going to be effective.
In terms of countering them, AAA guns will deal with Attack planes quite easily, though against fighters they do seem to turn too slow. In Normandy there are also tons of mounted MGs, and these can wreak havoc on planes that are making bombing passes.

As far as other campaigns, I haven’t played a whole lot of the Rus ones, so idk on those. Tunisia seems ok for the most part, though I do think the rearm point should change according to which plane type you are using. The bombers can be moderately effective, again if you have people spotting for you on the ground and you have good timing. Otherwise this one’s relies quite heavily on using MGs to do strafe runs, and are only really good if there are clusters in the open.
The Pacific suffers the most on Air support. There seems to be only one plane on the axis side that is capable of doing any real damage. Otherwise it relies VERY heavily on using the MGs to shoot into structures. The problem here though is it’s usually too difficult to get any kind of altitude to make the pass. Also, as you stated, the resupply point is WAY too far to make them very useful. In addition, when the bomber strikes are called in, Ive tried shooting them down, and it’s just not really feasible with the fighters. It took all my ammo, and health, to drop one. I was hitting it from when it spawned in to when it was nearly out. This is something that definitely needs to be addressed.

Those are my thoughts on it.
