AI needs a major overhaul/Review

First let’s prefix this by saying I’ve liked some of the changes they’ve made so far. They worked on the movement which was one of my earliest complaints, but now that I’ve played more I’ve learned that
the AI completely break the game for me and make me have literally no enjoyment. They never listen to orders they always disobey I keep having to tell them to stand in a certain area and they never listen. Even if I’m right next to them. They never shoot at the enemies or get any kills. They T-Bag behind cover over and over lay prone in the middle of the open road 360 run to cover then prone in the open again just to get shot, which by the way they never shoot one bullet. It is some of the worst AI I have ever seen, worse than Payday 2. In all my time of playing my AI squad mates have gotten approximately 2 kills. Trying to even use them as extra lives don’t work because they just die. I tell them to stay put they keep poking their heads out but again they don’t shoot. Even when I tell them to shoot or look in a certain area they don’t do anything. I know it’s a beta but when your biggest grabbing point is completely and utterly broken. It ruins the fun. Right now I’d give the game 2/5 stars. It’s aspects are enjoyable sometimes. In the beta you’d expect your core fundamentals to work but they barely even do. It needs a lot more polish. I’m hoping we’ll see that. I’m hoping they won’t be using the beta as an excuse.

If you level up your soldiers then they will actually become effective.
But it will take some time before AI will understand what cover is

i have seen no evidence of this

My LMG team wiped out entire enemy squad while i was building a rally point so i think they stop beeing retarded at higher levels

again i have an assault team with PPD’s and they are all level 4 and they constantly get seal clubbed and get no kills.

Again i dont think levels have anything to do with AI “goodness”

AI works only if enemy is coming from one direction, if there are more enemies then they will just wait to be shot.

Also if you’re on the flank and shoot ones all near AI will snap their guns right at you. At least that’s what i’ve experienced.

that is not due to AI level if you give AI smgs or lmgs they still use them like rifle and feel no recoil so lmgs they shhot single bullets which deals 12 damage each so you actually get kills

Well, there is a truth behind efficiency gain through veterancy (stars).

Unfortunately, it’s hard to define how much. Because I have some feelings, and so far I have seen thats this is no longer the case in certain situations.

Ai are usually better when they are not moving. But above all. Weapons make an Ai stronger. And no, I’m not talking about upgrades weapons, but type of weapons.

Special weapons Ai do not know how to use them, and generally, they have a terrible aim.
Smgs are the worst if not in close quarter.
Semi auto weapons perform pourly in close and long range.
Bolt action and LMG are almost good at any range compared to the others where they lack in some aspect above others.

With this in mind, with the recent update they have been somewhat screwed over.

Because if you notice them, they tend to move too much. And when ais move, they are not so good. I guess they made this decision in order to get shoot less.

So yeah . That’s the only in depth analysis that I have.

According to the devs, they are about to make an update for their behavior.

So let’s hope.

But it will require me time to analyze it in depth.

Everyone wants the AI to be drastically improved. But that takes a monumental fuck ton of work and intelligent decisions.

We have to make sure the the devs are aware that the AI shouldn’t be stupid, but also not act as literal aimbots as they can right now in some situations. They should have to “aim” just like a human player and not snap to players instantaneously, while also being able to miss shots like a human player on occasion.

It is a very complex issue that will take several months to iron out properly.

they had 6 years to do work on AI as enlisted’s main aim is the AI right?

AI also needs to have preferred terrain or something like that: i am talking about trenches, i cant even count the amount of times i am in the trenches while whole squad is standing on top, for the whole enemy team to see them.

Also squad order range needs to be increased, tired of moving a bit away, whole squad forgetting the order and running out in the open.

This is a solid question and I wanna know what exactly was prioritized in that time.
