It would be great to change at least the helmets for the new 9 Fallschirmjäger-Division. Since this is not a premium squad, helmets could change automatically, then you put new soldier into this grouping ( at least for now). I’m not even talking about uniforms, just change at least the helmets, the way we have on 5th Pioneer battalion in the game.
I really hope it’s just place-holders, because now it’s just cope-paste soldier models from Normandy.
They said in the Q&A that they are going to let us make changes to soldiers starting with the faces. I imagine uniforms and other cosmetics will come as well.
And of course you will be able to buy some cosmetics but others might be available during special events like in WT.
And we already have mechanic that makes the squads different from each other. And they created a model for characteristic FJ helmet. So why not use it for those squads?
It would be a shame if we would have to buy cosmetics to make FJ look like they should look properly.
Well, in a common sense different branch units (like these German paratroopers) could already be modeled with some default equipment elemets, like helmets, for example.
It would be a shame just as they made US troops use British weapons in the early campaign while putting the Thompson SMG at level 29 and making you grind for it.
Its a shame but they still did it. Honestly uniforms/cosmetics are the least of their concerns atm. I’m sure they will figure out how to monteize it later
The helmets are OK I don’t think that a division that was quickly set up for the final battle got the equipment of an FJ division.
The Paratrooper Regiment 27 was formed in February 1945 in the Stettin area from the tank hunting battalions 51, 53 and 54 formed in Berlin in January 1945.

The Name Fallschirmjäger Division/Regiment is only on Paper
That would probably be the worst solution. But under the monetization we already have in the game, it’s very likely. However, I might pay one dollar or another IF there would an opportunity, to have complete freedom (in the sense of history), to model my soldiers equipment and uniforms by myself .
I just can’t stand it when I see my soldier with an MP-40 ammo pouch holding a K98 mauser in his hands ect.
Even at the very end of the war, the German paratroopers were, for the most part, still armed and stocked with their original equipment. Of course, with declining supplies, and natural military raw materials, things was used that was “on hand”. Let us not forget the soldiers of the Wehrmacht and other branches, who were often “mixed” with the paratroopers as the amount of life force decreased. Therefore, in war photos taken at the very end of the war, paratroopers are sometimes encountered with standard German helmets.
Many war veterans note in their memoirs that that sign of exclusivity that they belonged to elite unit, gave them a sense of pride. It should also be recalled that even in the 1944 5th Parachute Division, almost complete full jumping training. It says a lot about the preparation of these soldiers even at the end of the war.
that’s true, but this unit here (27th regiment)
was set up in February 1945 and they were guaranteed not to have any more jumping training Of course, the old FJ divisions still existed and they also had their equipment.
Let’s hope for a France 1940 Campaign with FJ for Eben Emael …
