different type of fighting and altitudes (which dont matter much in enlisted as its all low altitude so manueverability wins)
american planes are very nasty in their own element. They might not get to make use their flight potential, but they still have fire power
Kraut cannons canāt stop laughing at this statement. Lol
Sure, they may have been supposed to be survivable. What they fight though? My plane is ripped in half in a single shot every time

Yeah. Sure am glad our API-T is a near guaranteed fire
haha not saying its good (cos it aint) but there are strikecraft with worse guns on it than the API-T (stukas, potez)
German 20mm were specially design to cut 4 engines bombers in one salvo, there is no wonder why they are so effective against smaller plane despite how sturdy they are.
Its funny I always thought that the 30MM cannon was supposed to obliterate planes in a few hits.
Was watcihng some gun cam footage on youtube and the b17 took it like a champ

ā¦API-T is our incendiary tracer round for the M2. Itās the best bullet you could possibly have for combating planes
ahh, my mistakeā¦thought you were dissing the Avenger thats named AP whatever I forget.
The B-17 is called a fortress for a reason. Lol
Sucker took ALL of the punishment and kept going. Even with just 1 engine it could keep flying
Then of course Gaijin apparently screwed it to where a stray 7.62 will cut it in halfā¦
I find myself doing that way more than I should, but thatās mainly because I have (skill) issues keeping sight of the enemy plane against the ground, and itās easier for me to spot it back against the sky, so I stay slightly lower.

Hey, at the end of the day, if it works for you and you have fun, more power to you.
I have a mate that insists on going head on with everything he could fly circles around in a spitfireā¦makes me cringe everytime he does itā¦but he gets away with it 9 times out of 10 lol.
Let me dust off an old meme I made for War Thunder, based on a true story:

Yeah, I was using a FW yesterday and a P47 out turned meā¦ Seems kind of stupid
Does it?
FW isnāt made for sharp turns, itās a high atmospheric fighterā¦
The strength of that one is itās speed (almost unmatched) and climb ability. Remember that moto when using it:
āDeath from above!ā
Iāll try to do that, it is just kinda broken a bomber out turns a fighter
Itās because the fighter is so insanely fast (compared to a hulking bomber) that his turns are veeeery wide due to high speed.
Just try to do vertical loops, thought. And notice how the poor bomber struggles following you and bleed ALL itās energy in one loopā¦ if it even manages to succeed.
But yes some planes have strange artificial values, like the Sov (what a surprise!) IL from Moscow that could turn on a dime, dissing all laws of gravity and kinetic forceā¦

Iāll give it a shot, hopefully it works

Practice makes perfect.
I was one of the worst pilot just one year & a half ago. Ground was my worst enemy.
But I kept practicing.
Then I started watching videos (war thunder is a good source of good pilots)
Then I kept asking for pointers from known veteran good pilots (like @Myrm1don up here. Chapās a āGod of Warā in WT, believe it or not)
Now I can finally say Iām a āgoodā (maybe not great) pilot. But, it took timeā¦ and countless crashesā¦

I still sometimes hit the ground and I literally developed my own bombing strat to avoid it
Granted this was done in nearly flat Normandy, so any tall buildings in front of me and Iām gone. I fly through nonexistent trees so darn often. Lol

The ground still gets me when I get cocky, or I get too used to a certain type of plane, say a dive bomber, and try to replicate the dive with a carpet bomber, forgetting too late they donāt really maneuvers the same wayā¦
Those donāt really pull up as wellā¦
