less diversity, more smg and mg spam.

No need for nerf, just some mechanism to limit how often weapons appear.
The dev should limit the player’s use of a certain weapon by cost. Instead of simply weakening or enhancing the attributes of weapons,
What? How?
Unless You remove all grind from game and give everyone most levels, how do You make that happen?
What “powerfull” weapons lvl 1-10, or even 1-20 in some campaigns do new guys have.
This will just make people with high level punish their team instead of them.
There are tons of “balancing” post with some point systems, while we already have balance on resupply points that is changes every two patches, sure they will add more points to balance every time.
Maybe just make all bolt actions actually kill, not down, on and chest shot in 100m.
Even if You take away fg’s, aws is basically the same, full auto for rifleman, m2 is worse with recoil still clears squads in cqc.
Fun? sure it would be fun if every opponent you face can just vaporize you in a flash, huh? Yes it is true that shotgun nerf and semi-auto RoF nerf was bad, but that doesn’t mean all nerf are bad and only buff is good.
For example, when we were able to bomb people as soon as the battle started, or when we had pepperonis all over the map, we should’ve buff other things, not nerfing them. Or, i don’t know if you play War thunder or not but, in WT, once upon a time the infamous R3 was added and was hella OP. So, Gaijin nerffed it instead of buffing all same BR tanks and aeroplanes. As you base on the previous bad nerfs, i can base on previous good nerf.
Buff things causes inflation. Power creep. Adequate nerf is necessary and it is unalterable with buff.
Lol i’m not saying “make explosive pack half rango of entire map”.
There we just many nerfs recently that just sucked, semi autos are half grbage, while auto rifles remain the same. Rally point nerf was so bad that they just removed it. Shotguns are now unable to kill dudes from 15m, even some pistols are better and they plan to make them stronger.
Some nerfs were justified and asked for by community here, like You mentioned bombing spawns in first 30s, and same with artillery. Even the thompson sway nerf while annoying make some sense, we just needed to change perk to reduce horizontal insted of vertical which is easier to control.
Buffs are just as dangerous, but are just better received generally. They make alternatives weaker in comparison, so they could lead to power creep as You said, but they aren’t any major buffs recently, and i don’t see many post asking for them, unless You count the man, the myth, the legend, give BAR’s to riflemans GOD.
Few small buff i would personally like would be bolt action damage.
The core of game was 1 shot, 1 kill. Most people like it.
Now that vitality is so easy to get, this rule don’t work anymore.
New weapon upgrade patch will soon hopefully make it easier to get full star rifles, but we will know once the cost is known.
Granades will be buffed soon, as they should be to distinguish them from det packs that are too good, just hope they don’t nerf them too much.
So some buffs are coming, nerfs are bad but sometimes necessary.
I think having more options is generally more fun, right now meta is heading toward COD style gameplay, and this game is more unique than most shooters to follow their mistakes.
