So I think most people agree that later Silver prices are a bit of a struggle. An idea I had would be to link the old star system, which determines the prices to BR.
This would have a few positive effects imo:
First it would allow 5 price steps instead of 3. This could dampen the steep increase. The BR V weapons could be at the price of the current 3 Star weapons, which is a lot, but I think it’s ok for at least BR V to feel grindy, as long as the lower ones feel good. For example weapons could be 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000, instead of the current sudden jump from 1500 to 3000.
Second it would also increase readability of the research tree in that you can show BR without loosing and information the tree currently shows, since Price and BR are now connected into 1. This would help a player spot weapons, that are placed at higher Ranks, but are aviable for lower BR quickly and thus enhance play experience.
And finally it could allow finding weapons of appropriate BR easier in your soldier weapons selection, as there could be a more prominent way of displaying the BR, than the small text after the name. Tho optimally filters would be the better solution for this problem.
Now to one drawback:
This would mean, that weapon balancing could change prices of weapons. Which might be frustrating for someone that just bough a weapon that got cheaper in the next update and things like this. However I think this drawback is worth it for the upsides.
its very frustrating that both buying and upgrading a BR3 weapon costs as much as a BR5 weapon, seriously why? lowering the cost of BR3 and BR4 weapons would encourage more usage, right now everyone keeps grinding with BR2-3 weapons until they get BR5 weapons and than move on to playing BR5 completely skipping all BR4 weapons.
I dont mind the BR V being expensive as fk tbh, but plenty of BR V guns should be at BR4 as they make absolutely no sense in BR 5 due to theyr poor performance & price what u get.
id guess ppl have gotten used to getting butted by df.
What’s even better
As you work to save up money to buy and upgrade soldiers and weapons
You also need to reserve more silver coins to buy all the basic models to get the vehicles you need.
a very bad mistake because now the players are making mistakes. inexperienced players and gets an SMG on BR3, and has tanks on BR1 and anti-tank weapons, and gets one on BR5 and then cries that he can’t play because he puts it on full BR5.
And if you are not limited by any equipment meta, you know that with BR1 equipment you will play just as well even against BR5.
I mean part of this suggestion is exactly to address this, by making it more easily seen in the tech tree, which BR each weapon is. Currently new players might mistake the stars for a combat rating of the weapon, which it is not. The problem if mixing equipment of multiple different BRs accidentally is already in the game and I don’t see how this suggestion would make it any worse. But maybe you can elaborate on how that would be?
While I think it’s true that you can easily do well with low BR equipment at higher BRs as an experienced player, I also think it’s pretty obvious that higher BR equipment does offer clear benefits.
I don’t think the rich second-generation purple regular machine can defeat the country girl’s brainwave sensor weapon (Gundam)
If all my teammates were a group of guys with lever rifles and tanks below 75MM, I would rather quit the game or just stay on the plane.
And I don’t quit this game for two reasons. The first one is that I support the weaker players on my team because I probably feel better when they don’t get a huge beating, and the second reason is that it’s not the equipment in this game that proves you’re good.
Weak players leave the match because they think the threshold is too high for them. If it’s too difficult, I recommend BR2 or some single player game on easy level.
Not many people are willing to endure the enemy’s all-round suppression and the incompetence of their teammates for a long time.
In the past, I might have taken every game seriously
But now I’m tired
Even if I have a lot of experience, I don’t want to waste my time with a bunch of incompetent guys.
