Addressing accounts being farmed to be sold. How to identify them (for developers)

So, there seems to be an issue that was prevalent in other F2P games on console (perhaps also on PC, IDK) that seems to be making an appearance here on Enlisted, and I really hope the devs work on fixing it.
(Please keep in mind that I am a Xbox player myself, which is how I know about this to begin with.)

There are people running essentially bot accounts into battle. Not entirely sure how they are going about it, but essentially they are running straight into the objective but the “player” doesn’t shoot at anything, rather just letting the AI do the killing.

They are doing this to build up levels and resources, then just selling the accounts. “World of Warships: Legends” had a MASSIVE issue with this, and I don’t know if they ever resolved it either.

They just need to figure out how to track it easier, I would suggest adding another option for the “Report” tab. In addition, the dev anti-cheat needs to be identifying players just running through and not really shooting at anything to flag this.

I know a lot of people hate on console players for “lack of skill”, but I believe that a lot of it is due to this issue, rather than actual console players not being as skillful.

how do you recognize their bots from user bots? cause i have seen enlisted bots running stupidly to cap without shooting also…
also there are lot of “special” players in this game.

Because its connected to an actual player account, rather than a bot name.

and you are doing that check mid game?

How do you want to track that ?
Some “real” player is playing and let his following bots do the killing. There is “legally” nothing wrong with it. Account selling is another issue.

One problem I have pc is this situation.
Squad with 5 units for example.
1-soldier 1 controlled by player is killed. Instead automatically go to soldier 2 or nearest soldier game ask to choice soldier.
2-Many times because of that delay soldier chosen is killed too.
3-While I need choice others soldiers stop running and are killed
4-Sometimes i try choice third or fourth soldier since until I choice second soldier is killed too.
5-Sometimes soldier chosen make rest squad go back.
For me that death timer/choice option make player lose valuable time create some ridiculous situation squad being annihilated instead only few soldiers.
I know you want address bot situation/gold farm. But I would like add that problem. If possible I would want option to auto change soldier when I was killed.

It’s a problem of stupid AI.
As you described, when player gets killed they run around like headless chicken and get killed in 5s instead of trying to find cover and return fire.

If AI was better, current way of changing soldier wouldn’t be a problem.

didn’t some guy post once that was how he played? he was a pacifist or something and so he would never kill anyone, so he would run to the objective without fighting and only his bots would fight :upside_down_face:

@Chickydoodles I believe?

Soon with machine learning they will develop better AI for their own farming bots than actual bots.

The easiest way that I can suggest is look for actual player accounts with excessively high squad deaths, in combination to how much of their gameplay was running straight into the objective without shooting, taking cover, etc. (even “pacifist players” will attempt to take cover, or build fortifications)

Essentially the ones “playing worse that bots”. Even the AI within the game will attempt to take cover (though it may not be very good at it), and try to shoot something. The accounts being farmed out like this however, do NOT do either.

It shouldn’t be very hard to track.

Punishing farmers does not effectively improve the experience of other players, this is not a urgent matter. On the other hand, severity of punishment may also bring controversy.

idk why are you trying so hard to ban console players.

Actually it does. By removing the need to carry as hard, and also reducing the constant hemorrhaging of tickets, it allows players to actually do more and likely lose less because of them!

I wish you would learn to read the whole thing, not just take parts out of context.
Personally I am on xbox. I’ve seen my fair share of good players, but I’ve also seen the ones that are clearly farming accounts, both on xbox and playstation. It COULD be an issue on PC as well, but I don’t have enough experience there to know.

I know this same thing happened on WoWL and it absolutely wrecked their playerbase. I just hope the devs are proactive enough to resolve the issue whether on console or PC, before it gets really out of hand.

So was in a game, and there where two players with same name, except for two small differences,
one was on a pc, and one on a console, and the only diff in names was a 209 at end of one the names

So i would like to think its a father and son thing?
or is there more to it, in regard to topic?

Given that the squad losses are less than 20, I would guess its more likely a father/son kind of thing. That said, it also depends on what the other scores on the team were and how long the game lasted.

Were there significant losses among the other team members or were these significant outliers?

Scorecard

Given that info, I’d say there was a pretty decent chance they were farming accounts. I’m curios, the one with 18 squad deaths: was that a player or bot?
