Additional Orders to give AI

The AI is a core mechanic of the game, but there really needs to be more directions that can be given.

  1. Option to interact with sandbags. From the side they are standing on, they will hug up against sandbags and mount their weapons, these keeps them looking in that direction, and in partial cover.
  2. Considering an engineer can build 2 AAA turrets, if you are operating one, your AI should job on the second one if available, but ONLY able to target aircraft. (In console, it’s still quite difficult to shoot down fighters, unless multiple AAA are working together.)
  3. Target with grenades order. If you look at a spot and use order, the one closest to it will try to land a grenade in that spot. This prevents you from having to switch in between and the one you left running back to squad and being gunned down.

I’m sure there are more, but these are the major ones for the time being.

Why? Just why? Bot squads are worthless cannon fodder, meat bags for the player to briefly inhabit and farm points off of. Everything about them is inconsequential and that won’t change even if you could fully micromanage them.

With the way this game is set up they could never become rewarding to use. They would need to fundamentally change almost everything about this game to make bots worth interacting with.

I disagree. As far as bot vs bot combat, better placement could go a long ways to help the team. In addition, keeping their aim focused in an area increases defensive capabilities.

It would also increase the need for fortification breakers, and right now their usage is limited at best.

If you don’t like the squad aspect, that’s up to you. Focus on your one single character.
Though that doesn’t mean we all should treat them as so expendable.

The extra troops on a point makes it go quicker, so keeping them alive and fighting well is important. Additional ways to do so should not be ruled out.

Sir im going to need you to calm down, this isnt that big of a deal.
