Additional Commands for AI Teammates

It would be so helpful if we could command our squad better. With the game being based around it, I feel like it would be a huge improvement to the game. Basically I am saying:

Formation:
Column,
Wedge, Line,
Diamond

Spacing:
Close,
Medium,
Far

Commands:
Follow Me (already exists kinda, but doesn’t say it),
Hold (much needed) and
Move (already exists)

Other improvements:
more situational awareness
taking cover more efficiently
calling out enemy distance and direction

Also, I keep pushing for additions to the command wheel for things like “grenade here, deploy LMG, engineer build here”, that kind of thing.

I like these suggestions.

Personally Id start with make them act like real soldiers where possible. For example, when the enemy starts shooting at you dont just stand there or turn your back on them, seek cover or shoot back.

When I enter a room unless otherwise specified I want my guys to follow me and give covering fire if I’m ambushed. Not all stand outside or crowd in the doorway and let themselves get shot.

Yes, I love that too 100%!

Yes exactly. They need more situational awareness and autonomy to move around and stay alive, but while also staying close as long as I am not just in a full sprint. I was thinking while I was playing how nice it would be if when you take fire your soldiers “React to Fire” like in the Infantry Handbook. Calling out the type of enemy (tank or infantry or sniper, etc…), distance and direction, taking cover and returning fire, it would add so much realism to the game.

Good suggestions.

Private Jackson gold order soldier would yell “PARKER GEDOWN!” whenever there’s a tank XD

What, no surrender command? That could come in handy during the seal clubbings instead of deserting. :joy:

Another additional command that could be usefule would be:

ROE:

Hold Fire
Return Fire Only
Fire at Will
