Engineers on machine gunner squads can build them

as a portable option

I don’t like to see them in the game, LMGs are enough for infantry, if you need a .50 caliber, use the engineer.

Nice topic, I am not sold on the idea of portable HMGs these seem a little OP , maybe making it so you can only shoot while prone or using bipod will make them balanced , but that’s just an idea anyhow I checked and that’s not type 3 its type 4 tank machine gun

Sure

I understand that some people may not like them, but heavy machine guns were actually used in combat, and their addition would have made this game more historical, accurate, and varied.

I have an idea of what we can add to the Allies as heavy machine guns…

Well we have them in the game now, they are made by MG squad engineers. I’m sure running with the MG 131 won’t be historic.

I don’t see what the issue is. We already have the Stinger

It would be cool if all factions had an equivalent MG

it’s .30 calibr mg, not .50.

He mean Browning M3 ?

Well, it’s not a portable weapon. You can build HMGs with engineer.

It’s fire rate more than compensates

Either way I think these rare portable hmgs would be fine. They can be an event prize

rof as compensation 600 to 900 bpm of 15 per second. thats as fast as anything in game only with a cannon shell that would be one hit kill not down kill at any range you can hit. you would have to limit magazines size to a fraction of existing guns or get one that can down an entire rifle squad with one magazine. maybe that limit them to one 50 round magazine period.

No a M2 browning Anti-Mechanization Weapon

Engineer built HMG’s are a much better implementation for these.
