Adding Browning A5 shotgun + shotgun ammo choice

Im aware that shotguns are (at least in my opinion) in this state of game very much useless. But, i feel like there needs to be wider selection of shotguns ingame. So, i think there should be a gap for another Moses Brown genious invention, which is Browning A5, long recoil semi-auto shotgun.

I’d like to suggest that players owning shotguns could buy separate ammo for shotgun through logistics maybe. Stock shotguns should be given buckshot ammo, which should deal devastating damage at very close range, to multiple people at once, and slugs which should have an effective range up to 50 yards. With upgrade system also giving players ability to change internal choke system of each shotgun giving a different spread pattern when using buckshot ammo.

It would be very nice to see players being able to load double barreled shotguns with different kinds of ammo, maybe one barrel with slug and another with buckshot.

I think Browning A5 found its use in both world wars, and it was even sold in USSR market for hunting purposes.

This shotgun was in the game and I don’t remember it being very good on CBt

I definitely don’t think we should be purchasing ammo, that’s a slippery slope IMO. Just let shotguns use different ammo types naturally, similar to how we equip bayonets.

Indeed, neither of pump shotguns were any good in comparison to toz-b or luftwaffe drilling pre-nerf.

However, post nerf it wouldn´t even be noticeable since all shotguns are useless now.

Devs shouldn´t be adding any more shotguns until they fix them.
As for buying ammo types… I agree with @8894782 here. Buying ammo would send us on very dangerous path. It would be only matter of time until we get “premium” ammunition, or will have to pay for used rounds, or both if this gets implemented.

Pardon me being a noob, but how to equip bayonets ingame ?

Yeah i didn’t give much thought into buying ammo, would mean more bad things coming than good

But it certainly would be cool to be able to switch between multiple ammo types, at least when it comes to shotgun.

The military issued standard ammo of the US was 00 Buckshot. The Germans issued Birdshot and Slugs, and the Russians didn’t issue shotguns officially.
I don’t see ammo types adding much in terms of game play or authenticity.

only some rifles have a bayonet mount
if they do they are on the top-left

Browning Auto-5 is also used by Japanese navy and I want to see it.
I don’t know US but in case of Japanese, they used ordinary 12 gauge buckshot so using slug sounds a bit strange.

The thing is that buckshot is still very effective at 50 yards (it remains deadly even at 100 yards, but the spread without a choke is substential), and slugs are perfectly accurate over 100 yards.
Unfortunately, that’s the thing with shotguns - they’re inherently hard to balance in games because if they were realistic, almost everyone would use them. They would be used at least as much as SMGs in Enlisted.

Why would that be an issue?
Shotguns are already an assaulter weapon, and pilots/tank crews can use SMGs and not Shotguns, Shotguns being stronger then SMGs would give an assaulter only weapon with some merit to using it.

It wouldn’t be an issue, at least not for me (probably some people who know nothing about firearms in real life whould complain about it being unrealistic, but that’s OK). I’ve just pointed out that those values were too low and that them being realistic might be an issue for some people.
