Add the Ability to "Up Armor" Your Tanks

I Believe that There Should Be a Way to Not Customize but Armor Your Tanks, There Is Really Only One Instance Of This and That Would Be the IS-2 1944 But Other Than That there is Nothing. I Believe that The Up Armoring System Should Work with Silver and An Example of this Would Be Like “Do You Want To Add Wooden Logs to Your Tank for 300 Silver?” The Wooden Logs Would Be Able to Give Greater Protection on The Sides Against Hand Held Anti-Tank Launcher or Another Example would Be “Do You Want To Add Added Armor to Your Tank for 500 Silver?” This Could Make it to Where you Have Extra Armor Welded on Random Pieces of your Tank, Giving You More Protection Against Most Incoming Damage. I Believe that This Would Make Playing as a Tank a Lot More Fun and This Could Also Be a Way to Customize Your Tank and The Customizations Actually Have Meaning.

Do you mean I would have to spend the extra 300 silver every time I spawn? This is just maintenance cost with extra steps. No, no, no, don’t open these floodgates…

If it’s just a one-time-buy 300 silver is way too cheap compared to how much everything else costs.
In the end everyone would always spawn with the best armor upgrades anyway, I don’t see much of a point.

And I am not much of a tank nerd myself but weren’t these types of field modifications largely looked down upon because they weren’t really effective?

I Meant to Say That It Is a One Time Purchase and I Guess Your Right When It Comes to the Actual Use of the Field Modifications but Any Little Bit Would Feel Better when One Guy Sneaks Up With an Explosive Pack and Ruins Your Day.

I would much prefer the option to upgrade ammo, especially for US tanks which are forced to use a training shell due to developer laziness.

They may as well give us a different ammo types as well and let us choose our own ammo loadout like smoke shells so we can help our allies

With how prolific antitank weapons are in this game It would be nice if we had something to counter it

Well warthunder lets you put tracks on Panzer IV turret cheeks, however warthunder also allows for custom ammo load out.

the problem lies in the implementation: is a loose-loose situation.

if it is before every match, you are just adding, as said before, maintenance costs in disguise.

if it is once and done, it means the tank actual armor values are the max upgraded ones, and the unupgraded ones are the gimped version, simply adding extra cost for a fully upgraded vehicle and just moving every tank in the game a little step up in the ladder at the same time, therefore we end where we started, and requiring rebalancing of the tank weapons to compensate, a lot of work to end up exactly as we were before.

That Makes Sense, But Does It Do That With The Actual Tank Upgrades? Like the Upgrade “Chassis Modification”?

Hell yes I would love it if I can give my m4 105mm HEAT just to see if it can kill tiger
