Add the ability to place TNT triggers down to be used later

Mines in general don’t disappear unless destroyed/ activated. TNT was added to more campaigns in the recent update, but really don’t see much use. Why? Primarily because the soldier that placed it is the only one that can trigger it. This means its only good uses are destroying fortifications and tanks.

However, historically it was used to set ambushes for defenses as well.

My suggestion is to give the ability to place the trigger down on the ground (similar to the system for engineer fortifications, where it is green if a valid placement is available). Can be triggered by using “activate” button. Also allow additional TNT charges to be connected to a placed trigger. This way, multiple charges can be triggered at once. It would make ambushes with TNT much easier and more effective, as well as giving your teammates the ability to trigger it too if the need arose. (They would get the kills, and you would get assists. Just like how it is if you put down an MG nest.)

matchs are way too fast pace for this

This is a big ol’ negative.

It’s bad enough rolling into a cap point when I can’t even see for the amount of barbed wire and sandbags that have been placed there…but do you honestly think people won’t abuse the living crap out of this and wire up 9 separate charges to go kaboom when someone rolls into the point?

I don’t see that as abusing it at all. I’d say that’s working as intended if they take the time to set it up. Its not like the charges are invincible either. You can shoot them and they detonate. I saw a suggestion a little while back to change the model of them, and if they did, they wouldn’t be hard to see or shoot. Players just have to be more aware of their surroundings.

I would like to note that I disagree.

I hope you don’t mind if I add this to the lexicon of standard responses. I think this will fit well alongside classics such as: “Just flank it,” and everyone’s favorite, “Skill Issue.”

In all seriousness, if I could trigger them with an explosive pack I’d almost be on board. But right now you can’t even cut barbed wire with explosive packs, and that’s cancerous enough. IMO anti-tank mines already do half of what you want, you just need to shoot them to make the magic boom. That at least makes the player be in the vicinity of the trol…er controlled explosive device.

EPs wipe out barbwire in my experience. Thats why I usually trench it, so its less likely to.
