Yes to this.
This would be a nice addition to the already good sound effect. I love to reload my kar98 and listen to the little metalic sound it makes when the bullet is slided inside the magazine.
There is no impact effect on things you hit with katana. It would be nice to add it.

This is obviously what any good Japanese soldier with a katakana should be able to do:
Of course, along with the unsheating sound, the move itself should cut through air (and anyone or anything in the way) up to a good 15m. It would be balanced.
