I would like to see horses in the game because they would be fun to shoot the gore potential is pretty astounding if you think about it.
Mounted infantry, was pretty common in World War II in most theaters, Not cavalry per se but mounted infantry, they wouldn’t fight from the saddle in another words, like infantry mounted on motorcycles or combinations would dismount to fight.
The United States basically stopped using mounted infantry in 42, in the Philippines and there was one mounted unit that was sent to the Southwest specific but they gave up their horses sometime early in 42 from what I remember.
There were mounted Australian and I think the British troops fighting in Syria but I think that was basically the last for them as well.
There were mounted Italian formations in Italian East Africa , and I believe in Russia and in the Balkans still in forty two.
The Germans and Russians of course would still use them throughout the war to varying degrees.
Animal transport , logistics, was a thing for all sides throughout the war to some degree, the French in 44/45 still used a lot of animal logistics support, but the Western allies apart from them were all motorized at that point.
