add folding bicycles as used by the paratroopers on dday. in addition enable the paratrooper squad to actually parachute out of a plane

Parachutes should be availabe for pilots. But paratroopers jumping straight into combat area is not a good idea.
Bicycles could be funny, but I don’t know if there is a place for them without bigger maps.
perhaps a large cool down for the jump? or only allow the jump to happen once at the start of a match ? seems silly sending in paratroopers on landing craft imo
Why just the allies? Everyone used bikes. Most of the German military used bikes and horses
What I meant is not due to some balancing issues but rather realism and silliness. You said that sending paratroopers on landing crafts is silly - true. But dropping your soldiers on parachutes directly into the area where the fight is going on AT the time is silly too. That would be slaughter - both irl and ingame. Imagine falling slowly on the parachute without option to fight back and at the same time soldiers on the ground can shoot you and your squad like a ducks.

It’s really fun in H&G to snipe free-falling dudes. Imho in H&G it’s annoying as hell as paratroopers keep solo capturing the points behind the front line.
the US had bicycle infantry?
I thought Italy was the only one with specialty folding bicycles for it. Russia and Japan improvised some as well.
Not sure how historical it would be either. As far as I’m aware, it was only Japan who used them close to combat in order to flank quickly; the rest operated like modern dragoons where they just use bicycles in place of marching and dismount before combat.
