Great channel, I watched that video a few hours ago.
Mark Felton isn’t a reliable source. He repeatedly propogated falsehoods in the past, and verbatim reads old forum posts even if they have been proven incorrectly.
He is the pinnacle of ‘bad history’.
LOL no
I strongly disagree with your comment. I agree with others in comments here. The Night Witches and some famous snipers like Lyudmila Pavlichenko, Roza Shanina and many many more brave women of the Soviet Union. I would add them as some event rewards. If you want diversity and not historicity, go play BF5. Enlisted is doing really well now in terms of historicity and realism, so why we should destroy it?
ok so lets just add in rideable unicorns and have our guns shoot pee and poopoo. While we’re at it, make the capture points guarded by a dragon!
it’s just a game right?
Is there any specific video? Mark Felton is one of the best historians on youtube, spreading facts and interesting history things to masses of youtube.
“Yes I saw all the counter arguments to my inane opinion but they don’t count because I don’t like them”
No thank you. I simply don’t find the idea of killing women and blowing them to bits with grenades appealing.
I had enough women screaming in BF V to last me a lifetime.
I personally wouldn’t want female soldiers or gender customization at all for this game and I respect your opinion about it it would just ruin my vision of the game
Yea that’s been a real turnoff for me as well. The higher voices also really stand out between all the other audio so i’ts hard to ignore.
For the US no, at least not if you want to stay authentic, the army was segregated for all of WW2. There is actually a MoH recipient that resigned his commission to be able to fight in WW2 because black officers were not allowed in combat.
I can’t speak on NZ integration.
Now an all black unit I think would be fine for Authenticity in the US, it would be a purely cosmetic change for a trooper being put into the unit anyways.
For Normandy, as far I know there were not many colored units, the only one I can find were the people in the barrage balloons. But they could also just add a unit to add it, like the 89th never actually fought near Moscow, they were fighting in Crimea.
Because that is a lot of dev time for modeling something that really doesn’t matter, and the shortest soldiers will be the most ideal to put in all your squads that are not vics due to hit boxes being a mechanic.
Unless you are speaking purely of VA, in which case it is cost vs return, that will cost a good chunk of money to get a lot of different vocies, most players probably won’t notice or won’t care since your actual character doesn’t speak that often beyond dying noises or yelling, which would just be a pointless addition at that point.
But really I think resources can be spent better then to make a bunch of new models/get new VAs, these could be spent getting more content for the game done.
You can’t have disscussion about “introducing new female models” to a game like Enlisted (that is advertised as realistic) without argument about historical accuracy. That just can’t work. I really don’t want to flame here.
Female soldiers just don’t fit the setup of the game. It isn’t even (at least not in my case, I don’t speak for the others) fighting “bohoo feminism”. Big part of the community came here after fail of BFV looking for the game that would be realistic and accurate, but at the same time more “player friendly” than milsims like Post Scriptum or Hell Let Loose. Arcady mechanics and wierd vehicle/weapons choices don’t justify ignoring history completely and putting female soldiers on the battlefield not only for Russia, but for all nations.
I can get behind this statement entirely.
I made a statement about this when BF5 came out. What I basically said was this;
Yes, you can add women in a sort of historically accurate fashion. However, it can’t be done with every side in every campaign. You could take some artistic liberties and still work within history. Women in the form of resistance groups or maybe civilians that were recruited into defending their home cities. You could make maybe a squad or two that could have some women. I know the Russians did have a bomber regiment, some severed in tank crews, and some were snipers. You could take some liberties, maybe make a whole tank squad women, things like that. It would be rare to see in-game and that would reflect history somewhat as well.
Now I do know where you are coming from, this is a game after all. But, if the majority of the player-base doesn’t want it, they don’t want it. Then again we don’t want micro-transactions yet Gajin still forces them down our throats… I’m not saying women shouldn’t be added at all, I’m just trying to find the happy middle.
Irrelevant but do you have any idea about the Schmeisser MK36. III it shoudl have 30 rounds in the magazine but it has 20 both the info about the gun and the announcement of it in the BP says 30 round magazine but it sitll has 20 ingame
Battle of Berlin could have one premium squad with a female sniper on both sides, maybe. At least that is the only theatre of war I could imagine some slight historicly not too disturbing idea, where both sides could get them (on the german side as a partisan)
But when we are at it, most soldiers were worn out, scarred, and did unthinkable deeds on both sides of the conflict at that point. So I find it better if all the characters are actually idealized soldiers, and not realistic humans, if I have to shoot them.
You are really consequent, Sir.
Lol hard. “Wut, it is no stupid milsim? Then it shouldnt be realistic”
I am starting to think that shooters with historical atmosphere are not your thing.
I mean did you even read the bloody description of the game?
Yes, there are some minor things which somewhat influences the atmosphere (Panzer IIIB, German Aircraft in Berlin or some minor wrong gun stats) but just cause we have some mistakes doesnt mean we have to throw the whole atmosphere aspect into the garbage. I mean if you seea hole in your boat, do you say “well screw it” and create new holes instead of sealing the hole?
This isn’t entirely correct. The soviets also had female medics which are also seen with ppsh’s in multiple historical photos. To my knowledge, they would have a male officer leading them but the med squads on the front lines were predominantly female. We just don’t have anything like a “medic” in the game, hence it only gives females the option of being snipers for the Moscow campaign and snipers or pilots for other campaigns.
If they decide to implement partisan squads females could work, too. After all, Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya is a well known figure in Russia. I personally wouldn’t mind if they added a premium female squad or something, just like they did with the afro-american pilot in the Normandy campaign.
Oh But it is my thing I’m just not that uptight or picky. I got a open mind. My standards are low due to what cod ww2 multiplayer did and bfv. I dont get my Hope’s up. I love playing post scriptum and hell let loose and enlisted. And I said it before if anything they will be a premium squad for Soviets and maybe just maybe french resistance fighters for Normandy campaign and maybe a couple for berlin since there were females that help defend berlin. But seriously though go to hell let loose or post scriptum for that PTSD experience your looking for if a WW2 game ever dont live up to your expectations. And don’t get me wrong I love enlisted and i hope they add more cosmetic changes in the future. Or just a full soldier customization in general. And pls whatever you have to say try not to be rude about it. Not trying to start a war about it.
Splitting AF mate. Looks like playing COD and BF is actually harming thinking.
Well yeah it was before I got myself a proper gaming pc so I had to make do with what I was provided
