Add engineering point incentives to tank traps

Hedgehogs are the only engineer constructible that does not give you any score apart from the points you get when you initially construct it.

Sandbags, ammo boxes, rallies, emplaced AA/AT guns and machineguns give you score whenever a teammate uses them.

There is no score incentive to using hedgehogs.

My suggestion is to give them scoring rules similar to sandbags, where being in combat within a certain range counts as a building assist, to the benefit of the builder.

This is in lieu of hedgehogs being good cover in the sense that they are indestructible to weapons, making them favorable as a form of cover, but harder to use compared to sandbags.

Otherwise, any similar suggestions that would incentivize constructing tank traps would be nice.

yes, tankblockers also need to give points when being shot, same mechanic as the sandbags. since they are better bullet and cannon fire sponges than sandbags themselves.

nothing cooler than seeing a tankblocker with 30 bullet marks all over it.

If you somehow got the developers to add that good job keep up the good work

Why do you need to be incentives to use your brain, there’s a bridge, stick a hedgehog, wall, hedgehog, they’re there so you can use them not so you can activate neurons when the number goes up, the miniscule reward of points is nothing compared to physically impacting the game by causing a tank to become stuck or blocking its access entirely

The point of incentivizing something is to encourage positive behavior.

For example, prior to rallies giving building assists, hardly anyone made them. Now people consistently make rallies compared to, say, back during the 1st year or 2 of the game.

There are many things in this game that are extremely effective as tactics but are not scored.
The Czech hedgehog is one of them. For example, not only are they effective as tank stoppers, but when placed in building entrances and narrow corridors, they can completely block infantry entry routes. It makes a big difference when defending a base, and is very troublesome when attacking.
Czech hedgehogs and barbed wire also have the function of disrupting the AI’s pathfinding. Just the presence of them causes the AI to stop or look for another path. This can be very advantageous when defending a base.
Even if these tactical plays do not reward players, good players who care about their team winning will use them. I do however think they should be rewarded.
I agree with your opinion.

I have better question. Why do you question rewarting teamplay and positive actions?

Because i don’t need to be mentally conditioned to be helpful, i understand the game in its entirety, i build hedgehogs to be useful, other people would build hedgehogs because points, the difference between rally points and hedgehogs is rally points merely existing further forward of the spawn is a bonus, you can slap down 6 hedgehogs anywhere it doesn’t mean they’re useful, and making it so you get points based on … what exactly how do you even quantify how a useful it is to the game, barbed wire hurts and redirects, sandbags are cover, hedgehogs are a piece of metal that tanks can’t push, so it’s innately less useful than most things. You either know how to use them or you’re encouraging people to build them for the sake of building them, that’s not helpful
