greetings. i will give you files of the ( weaponless ) ships to place in your map:
Japanese Carrier:
JP Carrier.txt (1,2 MB)
USA Carrier:
USA Carrier.txt (1,2 MB)
those files are quite heavy as there are 3k reindinsts inside.
HOW TO PLACE THEM
so, the problem that i have faced ( just to even separate them and paste them for this guide ) are that makes the entire editor laggy when trying to move them around. so here is what you have to do:
( Long story short, place one in a clean map, copy the coordinations and paste them in the map you want the carrier on. so you will avoid the risk of crashing ).
- open a new map with the editor
( must be the map that you want to make a mission on it. IF you already created one and putted stuff inside, open a new and clean map based on the one previously created as well ).
once that you have created the new map ( without any objective or anything )
-
go to the mods folders ( usergamemissions ), and open the blk file of the newly create missions. then, open the blk file of the carrier that you want above ( in this guide ), copy everything that is inside, and paste it in the first file that you opened.
-
save the file where you pasted all your stuff, and close it ( inside the new map )
-
click restart ( top right corner )
-
select the ship and move it where you want. after that, save it ( from editor )
and from there you can start to build upon it or do what you need.
5.1) FOR THOSE WHO PREVIOUSLY CREATED A MAP AND WANTS TO ADD THE CARRIERS
after that you have placed the ship where you wanted, now open the mission blk, copy ( only the first unbaked reindinst to the last one ) all, and paste it in the mission that you mainly wanted to add the carriers. so, this time, instead of having to move it around and potentially crash your editor, you can just place it on a clean map, and paste it onto your main maps so it won’t crash nor having to move it around. so we basically just copied the locations and pasted them. so the editor will have less of a harder time.
( hope this is easy to understand. if not, ask questions below. )
POSITION OF GUNS:
i’ll also link the weapons them selves if you want to add them.
below, if you want and need, i’ll leave the guns
( light color means that is above/bridge. darker color means that it’s either downstairs or lower level )
T=twin
Q=quadruple
S=solo
Japanese:
Jp guns.txt (766 Byte)
Usa:
USA guns.txt (1,0 KB)
( don’t forget to set team to -1 for disabling the guns. if you need them to not fire as they are quite accurate and deadly )
if you want them to be functional,
don’t forget to use the:
aircraft_carrier_landing_zone
( center mass of the carrier )
and the
respAircraftOnCarrier
( located at the further back of the ship. which will be the initial place where those airplanes will spawn )
