It is simple. Just like “disarm reserve” there should be a button to unequip qustomization.
I got many customization items which are hidden in reserve squad campaign presets which i will never find.
An “unequip customization” or “reset to default” button for reserve squads would be an really useful addition to the game.
the pain of having to look through more than a 100 squads in 7 different campaigns.
I probably have some helmets “lost” with Axis but there is no way on this planet that I will spend 20 hours on checking every single squad I have.

but there should be an option to keep those squads that are already in a squad preset.
A simple lock button would be the solution for squads you don’t want to strip.
I bought four battle pass weapons once and could find three. It took me forever going through several squads multiple times to find the missing gun. 
I must have missed it multiple times looking through various squads before I found it.

I use presets, and I wish that these unequip or default states should only ever apply for squads that are not in a preset.
