Add Assaulter I squad and remove SMGs from medics

Imo it’s a bad idea to make medic squad an assaulter I squad. Medic is medic and assaulter is assaulter.

Just improve medics so they are worth taking on their own instead of giving them guns they shouldn’t have acces to.

Also I don’t fancy to suffer and grind lvl 2 assaulter squad just because of this stupid desing.

No to universal soldiers!!!

i agree.

i believe medics should be like engineers, radio operators and anti tank personell.

with semi auto rifles and bolt actions.

not smgs…

when I heard about them putting medics into the game, my thoughts were that they would be a complimentary class that could be added to existing squads as optional extras that the player had to choose from

so when they made the medic squad into a full squad, I thought it was a bit much, and definitely makes no sense as an assault class replacement

they would have been better off just having it as something that can be individually added to squads, that would have made more sense to me

this game doesn’t have the scope to build MASH

Imo the medic should be A rifleman advanced class and a rifleman should become become a medic in the moment you give them the medic pouch

Medics generally have either standard issue weapons (at least when i did my time in the army) or personal defense weapons, so assault weapons are not too bad choice imo.

The main problem with medic squads is that they have a terrible versatility and are therefore uninteresting.

Technically they shouldn’t really carry a primary, and should only be armed with a pistol, but medics in the Pacific shouldn’t have the medic markings and should carry what primary they can find. (US medics usually carried carbines in the Pacific)

yeah… equip medics with opiates like they did it in ww2. they could provide relief to soldiers and if they OD soldiers die.

I think it would be much more fun if they provided amphetamines instead of opiates.

Introducing Pervitin

with buff effects: Sprinting & running speed +20%, Jumping height +50%, Climbing speed +100%, Stamina +300% & disable soldier physics inertia.

with debuff effects: narrow field of vision by 30%, disable friend and foe indicators on map and screen, disable hud ammo information etc, increase recoil effect 20%.

I’ve had a tumultuous relationship with Medics. At first I pretty much used them as Proto-Assaulters and never bothered with the class’s actual duties, which is a tragedy because players should really learn to use classes in their intended roles. Overtime I started growing more into the actual Medic role and focused more on supporting the team than racking up kills. In fact literally just a few days ago I had my Medic “epiphany” and really started to fulfill its role

On one hand at the very least most Medics during the war were issued pistols (but of coarse in this game soldiers can pick up anything) and in game if they were forced to use pistols it might force players to learn to use the role, since they can only rely on a pistol in sticky situations and focus on healing the team.

On the other battles can get very “heated” so I think it’s kind of fine that they have primary weapons. I think they could give Medics the Rifle weapon class because during the war Medics were commonly given the standard issue rifles, but in game this would give Medics access to all the different bolt-actions and carbines. I think the only reason they gave Medics SMGs is because it’s a common video game trope and the Soviets occasionally gave medics SMGs. A couple of days ago I had a Stalingrad match and I was a Medic running towards the objective when out of nowhere I crossed into an enemy squad and fought them.

I think it would be kind of cool if Medics just had pistols but then I’m thinking about balancing that with the intensity of battles, so they should either remove SMGs from them and give them Rifle weapons….or if that’s too much of a problem at least give them the Rifle class. So both SMGs and Rifles. If they only had Rifles it would probably dissuade players from going gun-ho with them

And I think they should NOT replace Assaulter Squads with Medics. When I play as a class I try to be in the mindset of it’s role, and an Assaulters job is to run right into the battle, Medics should be a bit more tactical and focus on supporting the team. Even if Medics have SMGs or if they get overhauled or whatever, it’s all about the mindset. If you’re a Medic, be a Medic

I have played the medic role in other games, but not one like this in which bots and players are only distinguishable by actions. So when you play medic, I assume you can see the health level of players on your side? Do you just see the player or players and bots? I wouldn’t want to run around healing bots.

there is no visual difference between a player and a bot, at least last time I played them few weeks back

but by noticing their behavior you can tell which are bots and which are players

so if they are running around like lunatics, climbing random things or just standing around looking at walls, you know it’s a bot for example

but if the player comes to you or is leaning and actively engaging in the battle as a player does, then you have a player.

If you play with a friend/s it’s always really cool when you can heal each other or put down a heal box for each other around the combat zones

But mostly I found it was about placing the medic box down in good places similar to how you do with the ammo box, usually near each other is very good because people that need ammo are usually people that also can benefit from a healing top up

whether you ignore the bots it’s up to you, but sometimes that might be all that is available to heal nearby and don’t think they use the box on their own, is there a command or something now?

Did allies use amphetamines as well in wwii or was it only axis

Apparently at least allied bomber crews used it too.

as a Stalingrad main, I dont understand the whole point.
In many games medics carry SMGs or similar guns, thats the most realistic you can get them to be without making them useless.
Medics are not universal, they have the medic box and medic backpack locked on. No ammo or grenade pouch is a huge handicap. Not to mention that they have no access to ARs so they are considerably weaker than assaulters thus they wont be spammed on low tiers.

medic is really useless now

I’d rather have good medics than a mix of meh medics with meh assaulter.

they should add trauma-center like minigames, and battlebit-like body-dragging mechanics.

I’m half joking
