This tank currently needs a buff in its shell. APHE would actually give the early sherman a chance to kill a panther by flanking it.
Currently the AP shell is laughably bad. Even when the indicator says it is green the shell will most likely bounce off and not do anything. Even when flanking and shooting at the side the panther the AP shell can barely penetrate the road wheels of the panther. Even if it does the shell desyntegrates and the only things that come into the panther are metal fragments that dont do any damage.
Jumbo is fine with AP shell but the sherman M4A2 needs APHE.

Both tanks need their APCBC shells. The AP is hilariously bad regardless of what vehicle is using it.

That’s just stupid. The jumbo is already quite OP against anything that isn’t a Panther, and panthers are quite rare to see. While I see a jumbo every game.
Adding a jumbo 76 would completely break the campaign, we need the regular Sherman with a 76mm gun

M26 pershing did not saw combat in operation overload but again they doesn’t care. just like M2 carbine and jumbo

Him asking for a buff in an attempt to save the balance doesn’t necessarily mean he’s biased. Anyone who played on both sides in Normandy and has more than 12 braincells know that there’s a not insignificant discrepancy between equipment, specifically in the armor department.
Although a 76mm Jumbo would be a bit much. And an M26 is out of the question even if it’s easier to deal with than a Jumbo.
A 76mm jumbo would completely break the game in Normandy. Yes a panther would still be able to compete but think of the other tanks? With Jumbo with AP is sort of balanced but a jumbo that can easily pen anything and would have APHE is not

While I am against the 76mm Jumbo being added. The argument that ‘think of the other tanks’ falls incredibly short considering that’s the problem the Panther puts out.

So long as this is given to the Jumbo as well because realistically, the APCBC given to the M4A2 will not change anything against the Panther. It’ll just balance things out against the Panzers. The tiny weakspot the Sherman will need to hit against the Panther is incredibly difficult to hit especially at range and the fact that the Sherman/Jumbo do not have their stabilizers.
No Jumbo dont need it. Do you know what will happen when PZ4s and 3s face against it? They have to hit a tiny MG port to do any damage while with APHE the jumbo will 1 shot kill everything that isnt the panther
There would be a reason to use M4A2 then. Thats called balance. Every tank should have a place in the game
What part of what I said did you not understand? The M4A2 with APCBC will not add much if anything. Also what will happen to the Panzer III/IV is what’s happening to the entire US line so I don’t really get what you’re trying to ‘balance’ here.
Finally, you can shoot the turret ring of the Jumbo instead of the not-so-tiny MG Port which is a better weakspot to go after anyways since it not only kills practically everyone in the turret, it destroys the turret drive as well.
And ‘every tank should have a place in the game’ is undercut by the basic progress mechanic that Enlisted is based on.
