When a player no longer uses a certain class of soldiers, it may be a good idea to allow deleting of presets. As new weapons or featured are added, this help avoid people who have not used this type of soldier for a long time mistakely thought their outdated presets are the optimised gear, and taking wrong gear to battle one day they start to use this class of soldier again.
