I think the way the game is right now is very, very casual, too fast and too hectic. Maps are WAY too small for a game of this type. I was hoping there would be an RB mode which limits players to only 1 squad only per spawn, and once that squad is wiped out, it can’t be used anymore. Maybe make an exception for infantry with 3-4 respawns per infantry squad?
Weapons need rebalancing too, why would Garand, that shoots .30-06, same as M1903, deal less damage just because it’s semi-auto? There’s a reason it replaced M1903: it was just better. Make it kick like a horse and make it deal same damage as M1903. Why is grease gun so god damn inaccurate? It’s like a literal bullet hose.
US light tank is objectively inferior to the German armored car, also hitting empty space with AP should still generate spalling fragments inside the vehicle, causing injury to the crew. It’s ridiculous how many times I miss a crew member by a centimeter only for everyone to be unharmed. That’s not how it works in real life.
If you are uncomfortable with any of those changes, please, add a realistic battle mode and keep the game as-is in the arcade mode. Let players decide what they like better.
Then this game will be absoultely pay to win.If you buy premium squads while have the premium account, you will have a huge advantage to normal players: you have much more soldiers.
Lots of things on this one that have been discussed a lot. But to summarize:
Garand and other semi autos do less damage to make all guns viable and not just allow those who have played the game to stomp the new players. This would kill any new players from joining after the first week.
The US light tank tends to lose its matchup against the sdz, but the sdz can be one hit by every other tank’s HE. Pretty much a tradeoff that the stuart is more reliable no matter what it faces. Spalling also currently has some issues in game we are hoping the devs fix.
A hard core mode with only one spawn would be very cool but they need to give you more control over your bots otherwise they’d be a liability in the field and only every used as re-spawns.
Regardless of gamemodes, the game as it is now needs to make use of the large maps they have. A number of game mechanics cater to slower paste game play, fortifications, transport vehicles and Squad formations to name a few. If you try to make use of any of these you’ll likely get cut down by a SMG pretty fast. A larger battlefield would slow gameplay down enough so you can get more use out of some of this stuff.

I 100% agree, control of your squad is absolutely lackluster. They have 0 sense of self-preservation, do not use cover, etc etc. There need to be commands like “capture this building” or “use this building as base of fire” which would move them to windows, “face this direction” et cetera. Basically make bots useful without making them broken?
I wouldn’t use that excuse too much, War Thunder was in “open beta” for a great many years. I’ll give them about a year of “its still beta” to fix things like the axis and allies building MG42 sandbags and such but for the most part, this is the released product.
The issue is that you can buy more squad slots. So the side with more total squad slots would get more respawns and just win as long as they can hold a 1:1 squad kill-death ratio.
Balance.
Would you enjoy playing with a trash bolt action rifle while players run around with fully automatic weapons that do the same damage per shot, but 10x the fire rate? That is a 1000% DPS advantage.
But at least you get that jumbo, in your logic you should be using the objectively better gear, right?
You are literally complaining about a balance issue and a design choice made to combat such balance issues in the same post lol.
Stuart at least gets a 50cal roof mount which you can use against planes to decent effect.
Many of the tank’s damage models are borked. It goes both ways. Puma users think Stuart is obnoxious to kill, and Stuart users think Puma is obnoxious to kill.
