They are my own intuitive opinions, I don’t know the numbers but I dare say that people love competition - I love it.
Just look at popular titles, Valorant, Csgo, Warzone…
I am a veteran player, I always looked for games where I could measure my abilities “in a relatively fair and objective way”, I looked for all this intuitively - without reasoning involved, my friends were always like that too.
It’s something about the ego… this even affects life outside of the game, I’m not saying it’s a good or bad thing, it’s probably stupid but it’s real and I think it happens to almost everyone (especially young people).
Add distinctions and recognitions such as the classic Bronze - Silver - Gold - Etc, these types of promotions trapped me for years in games like lol.
I love the game and I want it to grow, but I also don’t want it to be broken and become a tacky Valorant and see things like for example a delinquent gekko on the battlefield and aberrant things like that, immersion and realism are one of the reasons why I love this game.
Maintaining a certain historical respect - immersive and being in a competitive game at the same time… ahh should not be easy…
I completely understand your point…
I’m already a veteran (in real life, and in games), it doesn’t give me any satisfaction to kill my enemy in the way you describe (bots, and console) - I was a console player for many years, I know exactly the difference.
I understand your point and that’s why the suggestion… create a competitive environment, as I described above “I want it to be fair” (that’s what I understand by competitive), that would include separating console and PC players, or at least give some help to those who use a controller, just like Warzone does with auto aim, which I don’t like very much but well… among a thousand other things that would arise, it will depend on the number of players I suppose
You don’t have to attack… calm down little friend, these are suggestions, I just want to improve the game, we are in the suggestions thread
I hate sweaty shit and would rather have 1-2.5 hour long matches of guys taking potshots at each other and directing mortars and howitzers to fire smoke in timed assaults.
Agree to that extend that there should be better matchmake that takes in account player abilities.
Or even equipment, a guy with 1 BR5 weapon aint exactly a match to a player with full BR5 equipment.
Other than that im quite sure there wont be any other “competive” settings.
By “competitive” I am not implying a fast place shooter.
I also love the realistic and simulation mode of war thunder to give you an idea, its pace of play, details, physics, landing-reloading… - its immersion.
Since I also like Arma 3, I’m not talking about the style of play, but I don’t dislike fast placed either,
Hm, a competetive mode would be great actually. This way I won’t have to deal with sweats and wannabe proplayers in normal matches. (Or at least there will be less of them.)
imo this would benefit everyone, casual console players wouldn’t be matched against vets anymore, while me - a vet wouldn’t be matched with newbies that don’t know what the game is really about.
the problem is that there’s not enough people for it.
the best scenario is what Apex legends did, ranking system alongside with casual games mixed with every skill level. Though Apex legends had 10 times larger playerbase to support that, so does csgo, valorant etc.
