Acadamy rant, you've got to be kidding me

OK, so the new training system has dropped and to be honest I’m pretty angry at how its been rolled out. I asked you, I specifically asked you when the new system was coming into place, you didn’t give me or anyone else an answer. You did say to carry on training as normal or save your orders until the new system was in place. So I carried on training as you suggested. So now i have literally hundereds of troops that I cannot do anything with, I have no room in my squads for them, so they’re not worth promoting. I also spent a lot of gold training some these troops up, now you just want them to sit in the barracks useless, or for me to send them to the rear for absolutley no compensation.

I’m very very angry, you’ve allowed us to spend money on low level troops when you knew what was going to happen. You’ve not communicated or given fair warning and you’re not offering anything for these troops that we’ve either grinded for, or in some cases paid for with money. So not only have you pulled the rug from under us overnight without warning, you’ve gone back on your word and are not offering any kind of orders for troops we get rid of. It feels like I’ve been scammed, which of course I have.

Oh and also the bronze orders required to level a troop from L4 to L5 = 54 bronze orders, that’s a lot of orders.

To give credit, thank you for allowing us to level Premium squads to L5 so there’s a plus.

Maybe i’ve missed something, I really hope I have because i’m livid right now.

Take it easy … not everything can happen all at once … they will probably give us the chance to trade in soldiers … Or at least I believe they will.

Just hold on to those unwanted soldiers for now …

It should of all been implemented together. It feels very half assed

I agree but it seems they are on a schedule of trying to deliver major updates every couple of weeks.

The ability to tweak the system is still on the table … I’m sure there will be adjustments and tweaks made. Certainly nothing to rant and raise blood pressure over …

another development team that has triggered the community yet again.

Great.

I get the feeling games developers really do not care about the people they develop the games for nowadays they only give the illusion that they care.

I do understand the OPs frustration. They specifically mentioned compensation for sending units to the rear. It does feel very rushed and if they cant deliver it in one piece then just hold it and finish it all at once

I am also angry.

I kept myself informed so I knew the system will change, that is not the problem. The problem ist, that I do not get compensation for the gazillion troops I have, especially as I just used all my silver (and bronze orders) orders to get 4 five star assaulter III’s.

If pushing updates every two weeks results in bad updates, I would rather have monthly updates much more pulished

That might be a suggestion that they take to heart but be careful what you wish for …

Keep in mid this is an open beta and now we get a chance to see where they are headed with this new system and post our likes and dislikes . So I’m kinda liking this way of doing things …

Providing they don’t leave us hanging for too long between updates …

I personally believe they will give us the ability to sell back soldiers for bronze or silver … I personally think it should be silver since it cost silver now to purchase new soldiers …

Hey now, most devs probably don’t want to create a pos that noone wants to touch with a stick after their time and effort put into it. The higher ups though usually couldn’t care less about you, me or the devs who worked on the game because they need big numbers to get off to. Even with Gaijin, it’s obvious the devs work hard to release their work in as good of a condition as they can, the higher ups though just want to exploit anyone and anything involved with their game. Don’t hate the team that worked on it, hate the ones who forced the team to rush things out on their schedule.

Even if they waited another month for this update there would still be things that would need tweaking and adjustments …

You make a good point, I don’t hate the actual devs they work really hard to bring us this great game, but the communication has been very poor. The higher ups need to listen to what the devs are telling them.

thats what rust ended up doing

you followed a stupid suggestion and something stupid happened, who woulda thunk

of course they did, the ultimate goal of every f2p game is to get you to waste your money on mtx.

But they told us that large numbers of reserve soldiers were going to be useless.

For this reason I had slowed down recruiting soldiers via bronze orders for academy training, and started saving bronze orders (now I have about 650).
So one can say this new system is good or bad, but not that we had not been warned.
I like the new progression via bronze orders (I expected it was not going to be cheap), but the new system of switching perks is bad, because you have to fight with soldiers without full perks, until you get the good ones.

Don’t forget how ridiculously expensive it is to train your troops with bronze orders!

Depends, you could get lucky with bronze troop orders and get high level soldiers you wanted. Or you could get, mortar guys, pilots and a gazillion snipers. So it is hard to tell. Worst case scenario for one five-star soldier you needed 81 one star soldiers.
I do have the feeling it is more grindy than before, cause you have no chance of getting lucky.
Also upgrading level 2 or 3 troops got way more expensive than it was before (there was no difference in “cost”)

You are right, I see it is much less grindy than before for first tier soldiers (Rifleman I, Assaulter I, etc…) but much more grindier for Assaulter II, Assaulter III, etc. to the point that these are now practically useless, their advantage in perks being negligible.
Better taking a 1 star Assaulter to 5 stars, than upgrading a 4 stars Assaulter III to 5 stars.

Even if both can equip the perks you want, the class III will end up with more stats, which will later get an inherent bonus associated with them. At that point it might feel a bit bad if your squads are fully upgraded class I’s (at least if you’re minmax minded person)

But then, they might also end up introducing Class IV soldiers…
