I searched what even is this thing and it sounds more fun than it probably will be during gameplay.
First thing i doubt about are visual looks and impact it will make in games atmosphere. Stationary flamethrower built by engineers, sounds more like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fire anomaly to me. Game will become closer to clownworld in that case. Just imagine that these things will be spammed very often unless they are premium only. On the other side, historically 50.000 were built and they were used in D-day bunker/Atlantic wall defences (wiki info). I don’t know how much were used in real combats, however.
Other factor is gameplay and possible OP’ ness of this thing. From wiki info they were burried in ground, they had range 16-30m so they were practically undestroyable, and i’m afraid it will become very abuseable OP weapon especially in Berlins long indoor corridors. They might better suit in more open ground campaigns like Normandy or Tunisia. Btw, there is nothing wrong with old good MG nest if player needs to block some passage, for a short time.
I’m not against adding new things, in fact it might work out. Those were just some critical thoughts about this idea at the moment.
