However, in the case of the British military pistol, compared to the German/Italian army, the revolver reload speed is severely lowered, but I think the damage should be high.
From what I remember reading, the opening mechanism of the Webley made it structurally weaker than conventional revolvers, thus preventing the use of high powered munitions.
So, if it was to be buffed in game, it could probably get a buff in reload time rather than in damage.
I know it could be modified to fire .45 ACP but the fill .45 has somethign lie 50% more pressure than hte Webley is proofed for, so modern shooter hand-load them with a lesser charge for very good safety reasons!
Buffing the reaload would be fine - change the animation to using moonclips and reload is pretty good - certainly faster than 8 seconds!
There are good reasons for using revolvers - simplicity and reliability are right up ther for them vs automatics.
Absolutely correct. Revolvers are not as powerful as other games or the movies would lead you to believe.
However, the best way to buff it is, correct, decrease its reload time. If I am not mistaken, when you pop up the Webley’s action, all the rounds are ejected automatically, and you can insert a full 6 rounds instantly with a moonclip or a speedloader.
I do believe that this should only apply to the Webley for game progression reasons. And of course, it should have a faster reload than the Colt, at around 2 seconds. This is for game logic and progression reasons. Who wants a Webley that has inferior damage and longer reload than a faster to reload and higher damaging Colt New Service ? And who on this Earth would want to spend 1 extra silver order on an inferior gun ?
