And I’ve had numerous encounters with people who are just unaware of the fake/fantasy stuff. It’s not that they dislike historical items or they prefer mixed salads, they just have no idea. Some YouTubers and forum members included.
Most people are fine with shooting WW2 guns, so they would be just as much fine with shooting WW2 guns even if they were historically accurate, which would also be pleasant for all the people who care about history.
Which are, I’m once again convinced, the target audience for any non-alt-history game set in historical events.
sure, but, doesnt go as far as a simple tank that wasnt avaiable few months on that campaign to be compleatly disregarded on the equation (like jumbo or panzer f2)
I want to have a feel of these squads right here are the battle of Moscow guys, with time appropriate gear, uniforms, weapons and vehicles and that’s what they are, tailor and gear make it feel immersive historically accurate and a sense to these guys were there.
I do not want it be be hey guys ok today let’s grab your StG 44s and we time travel to Battle of Berlin now.
You can have more integrated daily quests and weekend ones and events instead that makes the players go around on different campaigns. That is more fun to everyone, more rotation all play the same and players don’t burn out just doing one campaign.
For me I hear your changes will ruin the game for me.
That is like a time travel netflix series
I’d say a casual (so I guess a majority of playerbasa) just wants to have fun and doesn’t care about our little “forum politics”.
Anyway, since historical accuracy doesn’t hinder casuals and may make history buffs happier, I don’t see why not go for it?
You still will have a fun game, this won’t change.
customs isnt that big of an issue either for people that want a custom historical recreation regarding weapons or squads / vehicles ? and said casuals (me included) can have all the fun in the game exactly how it was since day 1? and dream the day one can unlock the jumbo to demolish axis on normandy…
imo… ofc
honestly can go both ways… but i still feel “historical accurate” is more a niche and an issue for a low percentage of people playing…
but thats just me
i could go both ways. nor that i have much fun playing HLL or PS tho i dont know much historical accurate ww2 games besides that 2.
i don’t have the stats but it seems there is a bunch of ppl who do actually care about historical accuracy.
More than we might think.
Only in this thread 20 ppl decieded to make their first post in this forum about their concerns regarding this.
I would guess that with the new system, once a casual player unlocks F2, they wouldn’t even notice that they can use it in every single German campaign but not in Moscow, while the people who are aware that F2 was literally developed as a reaction after the Barbarossa experience in its aftermath would be happy to never have the eyesore of it in Moscow again.
i m aware about the F2, and i m aware some of early Gs were f2’s. and the history , development , etc of that tank
but i m also aware, that “batle of moscow” does take place on some maps that are far, from were the batle did took place . if, the user that posted said info a year ago on this forum wasnt wrong with the google maps and current locations of said batles.
the majority of playerbase , judging the items they use, the shit they do ingame, doesnt care . and the people that keep asking for such, are fewer than the ones that dont.
well we can agree to disagree this can go all night .
So why not?
making some people happier > not making some people happier
happy people = more monney
The only problem may be the ammount of effort required to put the things where they belong.
But that’s like 2min google per item + devs have like 3k of free labour in form of your beloved forum. Just drop a news post and if there are any inaccuracies, forumers will find it and fix it in less than 1h.
