Once you unlock the Tiger, it is added to your German lineup, but it will only be available for selection on the following maps: Kursk, Djedeida (Tunisia), Bagration, Berlin, Normandy, Ardennes (while also automatically and for free using the adaptive camo).
But it would not be available for spawn on the following maps: Moscow, Stalingrad, Brest Fortress, etc.
At the same time, Pz IV F2 would NOT be available for spawn in Moscow for historical reasons and T-34 would NOT be available for spawn in Moscow either but for balance reasons.
I am against the proposed changes to Enlisted. I have been playing War Thunder since 2015, and the research system has been bad the entire time I’ve played that game. Please do not turn this fun game into another War Thunder by adding a collective tech tree.
It’s great! I’ve been waiting for this update my whole life! With better progression and matching, Enlisted will be one of the best WW2 games for me!
The integration of progression by camps is a great change! I have maxed out the Allied levels in Stalingrad and Normandy, which means I no longer have to grind Soviet and American troops. I’m also very happy that it will even be possible to bring my favorite Soviet female medic not only to Stalingrad, but to Moscow and Berlin!
But there are a few things I’m wondering about, first of all, if the faction is going to be integrated by nation, will the Allies on the Western Front be split up into American, British, Canadian, etc. forces?
And what about the Pacific Front? The Japanese do not have the equipment to compete with the weapons they get when they take the U.S. forces in Normandy to the maximum level. For example, what should the Japanese Army do if Sherman Jumbo is put into the Pacific? Or will the US Army and Marine Corps be treated as separate faction? Or will the Japanese be given equipment capable of destroying the Sherman Jumbo?
I’m both hopeful and anxious at the same time, but this announcement is very exciting! I look forward to hearing more about your progress!
And what is going to happen to those who have bought the Stalingrad pass for x4 progression since all the campaign rewards will be fused into 1 tree that god knows what will contain what we will miss out on. Or even better if they are gonna do this scummy move I’ve seen another game do where they removed things from the game in order to add them back in events and make people pay for items that were previously available to everyone for free.
I quit WT because of this. I’d play ten matches at lower levels to get enough for a match or two for late WW2/Early Vietnam era and if I had a really good match, I’d be able to play another game or two. If I got roflstomped, I might not even be able to repair everything. It made me wonder how bad it was once you got to the modern shit and I just decided then and there not to even try.
honestly they could have kept every campaigns’ unique squad load out even if you’re global queueing
Let’s say you queue as USSR, you will either be send to Moscow/Stalingrad/Berlin.
If matchmaker send you to Stalingrad you’ll have your Stalingrad load out. This will prevent historical inaccuracies. You could even remove time travel weapons/tanks in this new format/research tree.
Way to jump to conclusions, I simply do not want to have this fun game turned into a non-historical, grindy cesspit. I feel as though these changes will propagate those aforementioned fears. The current system, though not perfect, is clear on its mission statement. For example, if you do not want to play with Tiger 2’s, playing Moscow is a surefire way to avoid that. With this planned update that is not necessarily the case. People could be loading up on 5 bad squads to load up one overpowered squad and ruin low tier matches.
It’s more about balance than historical accuracy, it doesn’t feel right when stg44s are going to fight against 1905 or 1938 mosins alone. The historical period is automatically balancing itself because when let’s say germany developed a new gun then russia would develope a response design, that’s how real life balance works. We should not make our own unrealistic balance changes.
What do you expect more than half baked ideas, im not a game developer, nor are you. This is merely an idea that the devs could flesh out.
And you you see correctly, I do not plan any MM, in my opinion the current matchmaking is ok. Its is only plagued by severe lack of players.
If you play a single campaing, there is of course 50% chance that on a given day you cant play.
If you play 2 campaigns than its just 20%
If you play 3 campaigns then even less, only 5%
If you play more, you are garanteed the have something to play every day.
I personally play mainly, Moscow < Berlin < Tunesia and occasionally Normandy.
I am so worried about this. The whole thing that made enlisted special was the vehicles and equipment being specific to certain eras/theaters of the war. With this new system what will make the game any different from battlefield or other generic shooters?
You don’t have to worry about the Japanese. Then with one move they get German equipment and the problem is solved.
Japan’s Panther against Jumbo in the Pacific. I don’t see what the problem is here (serious irony).
Anyway, you will probably never get a Japanese opponent with jumbo. That’s it. So you’ll be there pretty much the same as you were in the old system.
We both know they are not going to add even 20 different campaigns for each major battle that happened. At most I expect 10 to be made and each of these will have copies of previous guns from older campaigns like american ones already do with Garands. You don’t need to add 10 new guns to make a new campaign, just 5 are enough. Now as for the PVE I’d argue that bots sometimes fight even better than players when they can see you through bushes so I’d argue fighting against Enlisted bots is PVP.
I’d say a simple solution is to have 2 stage mm.
1st stage try to match people with certain equipment to apropriet historical map
2nd stage kicks in if the 1st one failed and it doesn’t care about the map
1 global queue for USSR
3 load outs (Moscow, Stalingrad, Berlin)
AND still one matchmaker that is based on battle rating points.
Let’s say your load out is like this:
Moscow - High end gear
Stalingrad - Mid gear
Berlin - Low gear
You will have a chance to end up in all of these 3 “campaigns” when you press Go to battle as USSR. In Moscow you will be matched against ppl with high BR. In Berlin with low BR.
This way you also reduce queing times, keeping “historical accuracy” and level the play field (weaponwise)
On the one hand, I am glad to see campaigns being merged (though I would’ve preferred a clear demarcation between early war and late war to avoid BR problems).
On the other hand, I really hope I’m not going to have to constantly switch the equipment of my squads when I decide, on a whim, what ‘era’ of the war I want to play at and hope that I’m not shooting myself in the foot every time I want to play early war (and wind up in Normandy or Berlin because that Kar-98 was used there too)
