The new Semi automatic rifle nerfs Make me VERY upset. Maybe its cuz “muh realism” but I HATE it when the devs of any game artificially limit how fast a semi automatic rifle can fire, since that is the EXCAT point of Semi automatic guns, to let people fire as fast as their trigger finger and shooting skills will allow them. The reason I HATE this nerf is that its a nerf so heres what id do instead.
Instead of nerfing Semi autos with this BS fire rate cap. they should have done this. Make an Upgrade for bolt action rifles to be able to fire faster under the soldier tab or something like that. Since the Lee enfield and all of the bolt action rifles can be fired VERY fast with the proper training.
The Brits with their enfields had the “Made Minute” The Current SMLE/Lee Enfield rifles in Enlisted don’t have that modelled. Some examples of “rapid fire”
Also if your curious just how fast somebody can fire a lever action rifle look up “Lever action rifle world record” on youtube.
Instead of NERFING weapons, the devs should buff guns that currently struggle/aren’t as good as other guns. I understand that sometimes nerfs may be needed, but I don’t think Semi automatic rifles needed to be nerfed, on the contrary I think the M1 carbine Deserved a buff or some changes. Also if your going to NERF Semi automatic rifles, should have given them more recoil instead of gimping the fire rate… Like if people want to spray semi autos in CQC why not? their probably not going to hit too much.
Historically speaking the M1 carbine was meant to replacee the 1911/be basically bigger and better than a 1911 as a sort of PDW for people behind the Lines, officers and such. So if you ask me it should be compared to the other pistols/SMGs in the game instead of the other rifles.
TLDR I think this nerf is unnessarcy and should be reverted following a M1 carbine, bolt action rifle, shotgun, SMG and pistol buff. Maybe not all of those at once. but why nerf things in the first place? Your just going to make funs of certain guns/things upset.
This severely hurts newer players who haven’t unlocked the fancy later campaign automatics. They will be much more hesitant to push into a point with their m1 garand against a mp43 or other full auto and just resort to camping outside.
Worst part is that it fucks over the balancing, the scenarios I can think of on the top of my head is what will happen to Normandy and Moscow.
On moscow the axis have no fallback in terms of what will replace their semi autos now (ZH-29 and G41) unlike the soviets who still have the AVS-36 which remains untouched.
The same happens in Normandy making the M1 carbine even MORE irrelevant and completely destroying the Garand, at the very least the Germans have the FG 42, what in the flying fuck do the Yankees have ? The M2 carbine ?
These are two very different weapons and the M2 carbine will struggle to become the replacement to the M1 garand as it’ll need to fill in the role of a weapon that can fight at midrange to fight against MP 43 and FG 42 users.
Even before the nerf there was nothing wrong with the bolt actions nor the semi autos, the semi autos were good at mid to close range but would suffer in longer ranges, it’s in these longer ranges that the Bolties would have more of a kick as they suffer less fall off damage and if I’m right, they have better accuracy as well.
And even at close range if someone’s skilled enough and uses the bolt action speed perk, they can absolutely wreck havoc on unsuspecting enemy opponents.
That was already the case. 30 carbine isn’t 30.-06 the 1903 and the M1 garand shoot 30.-06 in game they already do the same damage/did the same damage.
The M1 carbine that shoots 30. carbine is like 357. magnum, but 357 or 30 carbine isn’t NOWHERE NEAR as powerful as a full size rifle cartriage like 8mm mauser, 30.-06 or the russian 7.62x54r, but thats due to the m1 carbine supposed to be a replacement(originally at least) for the 1911
