why is the small one so shite? like, 10% more spare ammo (or one magazine/clip if 10% of ammo is less than one mag/clip) like, which guns exactly would gain more than one mag/clip from using this? why not just write “get one extra mag/clip, lmao sucker”? like, why not 50%?
compare and contrast to the other small backpack/pouch which just add one extra stuff for you to bring (which is actually 100% of what you usually can carry).
Small ammo pouches won’t do much for a bolt-action rifle, usually you get 5 more rounds which won’t help much, but semi-auto and auto guns getting an extra full magazine is quite good especially for Mg42 (extra 50 ammo) or ppsh (extra 71 ammo).
I still use small ammo pouches for weapons with large magazines since I wouldn’t get that much more ammo with a large ammo pouch.
That’s all good and stuff but the way the devs have organized the pouches is just stupid the only ones who don’t apply to that rule are the paratroopers and they just have magical pouches for some reason.
who knows really but GuardianReaper has already pointed out this problem and it just doesn’t make sense that the paratroopers can carry more ordinance then the ground troops can for some magical reason.
It doesn’t give a ton of extra ammo, but It’s also super cheap to buy, so I think it’s still a good value. I bought a bunch of them to give to soldiers that I didn’t want to spend silver orders equipping. For one bronze weapon order there’s little reason not to use it if the soldiers backpack slot is otherwise empty.
The biggest problem is that supplies cannot be obtained at any time. The ammunition boxes are too fragile and even a grenade can destroy them all. There are no built-in ammunition boxes in the map.
This leads to the feeling that there are never enough bullets
honestly, i almost usually dies first before i ran out of bullet. and wwhen i do ran out of bullets, i usually have a bot squad still alive to hand me a spare magazine/clip they pull out of their ass.
There are always enough bullets for people who do the work themselves. Unless you have an engy and are building it for yourself, put your ammo boxes abit towards the rear. You do not have to go back and destroy your old ammo boxes if the lines have moved, you can always make new ones (the first ammo box you made will vanish if you try to make a fourth ammo box and last update causing boxes to vanish when emptied means it will be easier to keep track of)
Always keep an engy on hand in EVERY squad, it’s essential for guys who don’t carry large ammo pouch to be able to reload constantly. Some weapons by their very nature are also less ‘ammo hungry’ because you either do more damage per bullet and thus need to spend fewer rounds, or the accuracy means you waste less of your rounds. Plus, engy can just make your own ammo boxes, there’s no limit to how many ammo boxes a team can have. If in a 10 man game every last player made the full three boxes, that’d be 30 ammo boxes on the map for your team alone.
Also remember, if you grab an enemy gun, you can refill it using an enemy ammo box. This will only work ONE time, each subsequent attempt will tell you that you cannot use enemy ammo boxes, but the first one gets through. I don’t know if this is a bug or a feature but it does work (for ME at least)
We can replenish our ammo by building ammo boxes even if we don’t have pouches, but sometimes we don’t have time to build boxes, especially when we’re rushing into a CP and fighting enemies who are trying to get it back. it’s nice if you can order a bot engineer to build it for you, but unless you’re an engineer squad, most There is only one engineer in the squad, and you have to build the boxes yourself. This is when the enemy keeps pouring in.
When using soldiers with submachine guns and other weapons, large ammunition pouches have become a must-have for me. With it, I never run out of ammunition prematurely.
I have no complaints about the functionality of the pouches as they are now, but if I had one complaint, it would be that paratroopers cannot equip the pouches. If you want to use engineers as paratroopers, you have to be in a mortar unit, which means you will suffer from ammunition shortages all the time if you want to play otherwise.
I would like to see parachutes and pouches equipped on different parts of the body.
