You can’t disassemble anything when some low-iq garbage hops into your guns and blocks it. You should in addition be able to restrict access or kick them out.
Disassemble order still doesn’t work after it got “patched”.
Disassembling burning guns still doesn’t sometimes work because they would be manned???
I just had this problem in a stuart, and made a post about it somewhere. Long story short, I was fighting happily, won 2 engagements with pumas already because I’m not an idiot, though I was down 2 crew members.
Found out the hard way randos can just hop in your tank now when my tank suddenly started galivanting off across the map for no reason, not responding to any of my commands. I thought it was packet loss till I noticed there was a third person in the tank.
I already had a driver and a gunner. And this chucklef@#$ decides to steal the driver seat instead of getting in the commander seat to use the MG up top and spot targets. Then he drives aimlessly for a little bit, before finding a Puma, charge headlong at it straight down its line of sight, ram it, and face hug it… You know… Where its armor is thickest, and right where its gun was pointed. I’m like, WTF dude, if you’d let me drive, I could’ve driven right past this guy and shoot him in the side. Anyway, Puma of course immediately kills us, costing him, me, and the team a perfectly good tank.
I like the idea of multicrew, but Gaijin really needs to give tank commanders the ability to boot people, or control what seat people hop in, because I aint putting up with smooth brains hijacking me and trying to get me killed.
I’m not a fan of engineers simply restricting access as being forced to helplessly stare at an unmanned AT gun whilst being fired at by a tank is not good experience. The squad who built the gun should definitely be able to kick others out however.
In addition, once we get proper gun sights (something we desperately need) engineers could have access to the new improved sights while everyone else who jumps in would get the current one, based on the idea that the engineer would have the necessary training of a gunner to properly use advanced optics and the gun itself.
Something also needs to be done about teammates wasting the ammo in the guns, but short of a mandatory cognitive test the best way solve that is probably just to make rearming them much more convenient.
In general I have nothing against players using the equipment that engineers provide, I mean that is kind of their point - they build supportive structures.
But I do agree that Tanks should have a lock for other players unless they are in a squad with the tank owner. Players who are not in a squad should only be allowed to replace the machine gunner position.
