AA rework

With the introduction of the faction based AA, the new ones seem like they are missing some key functionality.

Now that they only fire one projectile at a time rather than 4, and no longer have a huge shield on the front that protects the operator, I suggest making either one of these two changes:

  1. Make it fire flak rounds. If the shot passes close to an enemy, the shell detonates doing airburst type damage.

OR

  1. Allow them to aim down toward the ground again. I know this function was taken out with the old type of AA, but let’s face it, these new ones are nowhere near as deadly as those were. Once again I point out they don’t have the big shield on the sides like the old ones. We have access to HMGs now too which still hold far more overall power due to fire rate and no ammo count. At least with the AA units they could be used more as a precision weapon this way.

Or

None it the above and give them more damage per round against planes.

I’d rather not have flak rounds for a 2cm gun. Purley because of realism.

And 2nd… I’d like to but I don’t think it’s a good idea.

I like this.

We have access to the HMGs, which only overheat and don’t need to worry about ammo. Spraying rounds everywhere.
In comparison, the AA can be used for better precision, but still are limited on ammo (20 round magazines and 2 backups). They are very susceptible to enemy tanks and AT, as well as sniper fire.
Also, I’m suggesting moreso that they can aim FLAT, but not DOWN.

If they made the AA guns usable against infantry, then the AA guns should overheat faster.

They only have a 20 round magazine, then the reload is much worse than an overheat.
They would function more like a heavy sniper rather than a machinegun against infantry.

Only as a fin fact
Hmg and Lmg have 5000 bullets
It’s not unlimited, but 5000 reach You 15 minutes for waste all the machine

Yes on OP

The first one may not be a good idea for both realism and future of this game when they introduce actual large calibre AA gun and cold war AA gun with VT fuse.

The second one is a good idea generally, practically AA gun usually not used to against infantry because they are not dedicated and efficient, not they cannot. HMG have become a good replacement of AA gun to attack ground target, it is a good idea to make AA gun possible to attack ground target in emergency, just not so effective. However, there is still some balancing problem that AA gun of some country are much better protected than others.
