Aa guns need a damage buff 'gainst plane. Ive been shot out of the sky by a bot rifleman with a bolt action rifle, but you get 10 direct hits on a bomber coming straight at you and it does alomst nothing. He was sweeping the beach, so i placed an aa down. lined him up and he flew straight at me like he had esp. The target was directly over him cause he was comming straight at me. So i open fire. Hit harkers were going crazy, and yet nothing happened. Then we all got bombed before i was even half way reloaded. Make them do half damage to humans and increase the damage against aircraft. The reload and turn so slow, theyre pratically usless. Except as anti infantry
No need to half damage vs boots, it’s still a 20mm… And they are extremely easy to avoid and spot once they start shooting. No idea why people are so afraid of those on the ground.
It DOES need to be more effective vs planes though.
Just mentioned reducing damage to infanty cause alot of people seem to think theyre to op and that it takes away from the mg nest. I have no probem personally with a 20 mm flack round shredding troops. Cause it realistic.
their main problem (at least it was the last time i used them) is the glacial rotation speed, meaning they struggle hard if they arent pointed into exactly the right direction a plane is coming from /going
combine that with aa guns being restricted to enginner squads and they are very rarely useful against planes
I know theyre hard to hit with, unless you anticipate where theyre coming from. Its just that they either need to make them turn and reload faster so you can hit the a bit easier. Or make them do more damage. I had the best set up possible. He was comming straight at me so it was like he was standing still. I landed all 10 shots on him and nothing. How many passes and how many reloads would you need if he wasnt making himself easy to hit. You need to lead them and if they flying across you and not at you. You cant turn fast enough to track them, so you might only get 2 or 3 hits each pass. Its almost a waste of time even trying. Your better of blocking an entrance with it and using it as a sheild against troops
Maybe make AA spot form farther away or put indicator on minimap so they can turn to face their target?
Damages looked okayish a couple of hits usually comdemn plane to crash
It was on the beach on d day. And i hit him with a full mag of flack rounds. Hit him 9 or 10 times. That should have obliterated him
I literally made an AA on the DDay map on a bunker some weeks ago and did exactly what you described. No result.
I should be able to shoot one four round shot from the Flakvierling and take a fighter down. Undoubtedly a broken system.
I have killed exactly one plane in the entire time I’ve used the AA gun. We do need a better hard counter as infantry against planes for sure. I want my 37mm.

The issue with the AA isn’t so much that it can’t damage planes, because it totally can, its that it doesn’t do enough damage to kill a plane before it finishes a pass, and since often one pass is all a plane is really even hoping for, even if the damage is enough that they eventually die, it doesn’t matter. AA needs to be fixed, but so does the entire air game. I think it would make sense to actually bring the rearm points for aircraft closer, but at the same time add a longer spawn lockout and make ground AA more effective, so the planes are deadlier but shooting them down is more doable and more impactful.
The AA uses HE shells rather then AP since no wonder it dose 0 damage to light tanks at Moscow.

AA flack rounds are basically grenades. A single hole through a plane will do almost nothing unless you hit the pilot or engine. Flack rounds were designed to shower them with shrapnel, tearing the plane to pieces. You set the hight you want them to expolde at and turn the sky into a death trap. With multiple gunners you can pretty much make a grenade cloud that planes have to fly through in order to bomb you. Maybe they should let us set the explosive range ourselves and increase the damage radius

The only issue I have with it vs the mg nest is that it builds faster than an MG nest which is literally just sandbags and a mg42. It shouldn’t be slower to build an MG nest.
I find your story to be one I used to experience regularly but thought that might’ve already done something about it. Seems lately AA’s are very effective against planes, they shoot me down when I’m flying often disabling a crucial component to the point I cannot maintain my course for a ground-run.
I have also found I shoot down enemy planes with them just fine now. I’m not saying they don’t need to be quicker on turn as they 100% do need a faster turn radius as any pilot with even a modicum of focus will hear you and immediately start dodging and a little wiggle is all it takes to dodge them. I just know I started doing much better once I started aiming a little off from the aim sight. That sight is center-mass, but it’s the wings that stabilize the aircraft for an accurate ground-attack. Once I started aiming more for the wings I might only hit 2-3 hits out of 10, but it knocks them off course and into the ground 90% of the time.
As for infantry it’s only good for farming bots. You’ll usually get shot off so fast that I wouldn’t see a need for a damage buff.
Bit tired of larger rounds not having the punch they should anyhow. Like you know how hard it is to hit a ground target with a plane’s 20mm? I don’t care HOW far away I am, it’s a damn 20mm, it shouldn’t be giving me white hit markers. Would also be nice to be able to customize plane ammunition. Like maybe I don’t WANT 20mm he, maybe I want AP so I can try and top-down tanks. Why is the 37 on the 110 even a HE to begin with? It sucks for shooting down planes, 37he sucks for infantry, so what the hell right?
