We don’t want to remove AA, we do want to change deployment times and swap around from MG Nests, reduce angle and places where it can be deployed, but aside from that.
Imagine AA had flak smoke (not sure why flak against planes doesn’t either currently!?!), like it would appear normally in the air, that same smoke might stop AA spammers from actually seeing their victims, if firing full clips, a possible flak smoke screen would hide their target.
Open to discuss, just another AA related suggestion.
The AA gun should be forbidden to be placed in building for example.
The hitbox should be rearranged.
A reload gunner and commander should be added, meaning that the AA would be only effective with a 2 or 3 men crew.
The current overheat is already good but not enough. The AA spam is real.
Engineers should not be able to build a huge AA gun anywhere they want.
Totally unrealistic and apparently an annoyance to some players.
The rediculously quick overheating is no solution.
The real solution is easy.
Dont let engineers build AA guns.
Give every map a few stationary AA guns so you can defend against planes.
Maybe reduced angle to only fire upwards.
The enemy can of course damage and destroy the AA gun.
After destruction it spawns again into brand new after a certain time.
Or only engineers can repair it.
Problem solved.
Agreed.!
In fact, we can learn from channels including HBO TV series that USMC used M1917MG in the battle of Crocodile Creek ,which is also a .30cal machine gun (you can understand it as the Maxim machine gun made in the United States) consistent with historical facts, and its firepower durability is also higher than the M1919 (at least it seems so)
with overheating mechanic AA is relatively nerfed against planes, but still effective against infantry.
so easiest way to fix the AA. forbid its placement in buildings, remove its gun shield and remove overheating mechanic for it. biggest problem with AA is not its rate of fire or deadliness, but narrow hitbox from where you can kill its operator.
Yes I get it and you are right. What I was trying to say was that it is a “good” nerf even for ground troops but simply not enough. Needs readjustments of course.
